This morning, around 4:15am, as I was driving home on Anistown Road, I witnessed 5 different Gwinnett County Police cars pass me at a very high rate of speed. None of them had their Emergency lights on. One almost rear-ended me because I had just began to move after a red-light changed to green at Anistown & Deshon roads. He flashed his high beams at me and then quickly swearved around me. Had he had his emergency lights on, I would have gotten out of his way. Also, there was another close call with a different person who almost pulled out in front of them because he didn't see them.Several miles later at the intersection of Anistown & Scenic Highway 124 I saw that they had responded to a call at the Quik Trip. I understand that sometimes when reponding to a call, you turn your lights off just before you get there so that you don't alert the perpatrator of your arrival buyt to do it that far out and to reach speds of 70-80 mph in a 45 mph zone is not only unprofessional but also reckless to all the other law abiding citizens on the road. Shouldn't safety be first? I am probabaly just wasting my breath here and this complaint will fall on deaf ears.
