My mother moved there 5 months ago and it has been one bad thing after another. She is so overmedicated that she is hallucinating and could barely speak or walk. Every time I have been in there (no matter what day or time), despite the promised activities the residents would have, I find everyone parked in one of the two TV rooms staring at the TV. We will be moving her out soon. The Executive Director is easily the most incompetent person I have ever encountered. She called me 5 times AFTER we moved my mother in there to see if I had decided on Northstar. I requested monthly statements so that I could keep up with the account and none came, despite numerous requests. Then I get a phone call a few weeks ago from office staff wanting to know when I was going to pay the 5 months worth of bills. I told them they were paid and provided proof of the transfers for the first three months (bridge loan) and bank statements for the other payments. I didn't hear anything until Friday night at 6:30 when I got an email from the person doing the Exec Dir job saying that he needed check numbers in order to trace the lost payments and if this was not cleared up by the end of the week, he was sending the account out for collections. HOW DOES SOMEONE "LOSE" $19000 worth of payments????????? I am furious at the incompetence and the outrageous monthly charges for what amounts to pretty much zero care.

Love Northstar Place! They have the absolute best customer service and make you feel comfortable and safe making the decision to place someone in their care. Mary Cherry at the front desk is so lovely and calls to check on my mom and family frequently! They really do care here and treat everyone like they’re their own family. I cannot recommend Northstar Place or their sister community enough!!
