I adore this place! The prices can be as low as 35 cents! My average books cost anywhere from 50cents to$2. And what better cause then your local library. If they don't have the exact book you want, tell the ladies and they can look out for it. We come here every week!

Questions & Answers

It's in there books in spanish or just in english?

There is a small selection, last I checked, but not a lot.

Can books be donated at all times the Book Store is open? Is there a limit to the number of books we can donate at 1 time?

Cindi Maestas | Dec 17, 2021
Friends of the Aurora Public Library | Dec 17, 2021

Yes but only during the hours the store is open. If those hours don' t work for you, there is a small branch library next door and they will take the donations and deliver to us when we're open next. We have been receiving lots of donations so it's always best to call ahead of time to see if we are imposing any limits on the number of boxes that can be donated at one time. Thank you for your support!

Trade paperbacks between $2-3, hardcovers between $3-4.

Do you have to have an aurora public library card to shop here??

Amoree Erskine | Oct 13, 2020
Friends of the Aurora Public Library | Oct 13, 2020

As others have stated, no Aurora Public Library Card is necessary to shop at The Book Outlet! Good to know though that there is a branch of the Library right next door to the store (Iliff Square Branch) just in case you'd like to sign up to get a library card! All net proceeds from sales at the bookstore go to support the programs and services of the Library! And we agree on the great selection, prices that can't be beat and the best volunteers anywhere - we have no paid staff!

I have a box of books I would like to donate, where can i take them?

The Friends of the Aurora Public Library Book Outlet welcomes donations of gently used books and other media like CDs, books on CD, LPs, puzzles, etc. They accept paperback and hardback in all genres - fiction and non-fiction. They can provide you with a tax receipt as they are a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Staffed entirely by volunteers and all net profits go to support the programs and services of the Aurora Public Library. Located at the northwest corner of Iliff and Peoria. If more convenient for you, you can drop them at any branch of the Aurora Public Library and they will get them to the Book Outlet. Some used bookstores will give you a fraction of the value of the book to use for future purchases. Most thrift stores simply recycle any books donated there. By donating to The Friends, eveybody wins!
