Thanks for treating a fellow firehouse so well. Mad respect for all of you.

Very impressive monument right on the facade of the fire department. If you take the time to look closely at the monument, you get a chill down your spine. Nevertheless, the memorial is very nicely made and is primarily intended to honor the firefighters who died on 9/11.

I travel all over and visit fire departments I enjoy taking to fellow firefighters and taking pictures of the station and rigs. I got to visit a few NYFD station this week and got to speak to a lot of firefighters, but I have never been treated so rudely until I visited the 10 house. I understand you guys probably have a ton of people visiting every day but no excuse for the way I was treated. I walked up to an opened roll up door and asked an engineer if I could take a few pictures he said sure no problem. I was standing in the door way taking a picture when another firefighter came up and rudely yelled at me that I can’t be in here taking pictures. I said I was just told I could and he asked who because you shouldn’t be in here. I pointed at the engineer on the other side of the engine I said sorry and started backing away then he started saying well just take your pictures. I took a couple more and left. I would hope most NYFD knows we want to visit your station to pay respect for you’re brothers that paid the ultimate price on that tragic day and what you guys do everyday.

Great brass relief mural on the side of the firehouse. The artist used the actual faces of each member of the firehouse that died on 9/11 or from toxic exposure during the rescue and clean up. If you look at the photos next to the mural, you will see all of them, including Pete Davidson’s dad. Very moving and personal tribute to fallen heroes.

Hi Lucie, this is no problem. All you have to do is ring at the door and ask for a Shirt. The price is 20 or 25$. Enjoy your Visite at this brave station!!!
I am sure that if you go to any Fire Department Houses, one of those nice firefighters will probably help you.
It started off as any other day on the FDNY. When the attack happen at 8:46am there were twice as many Firefighters in every single firehouse..... We change tours at 9am...... Respond to the attacks the brothers know it was going to be a difficult Job. When flight 175 attacked the South Tower your whole mind set changed and you realize that one of you may not come back..... Fighting a high-rise fire caused by jet fuel was going to be difficult time...... But the brothers ran up both buildings saving thousands and thousands of Innocent Civilians..... It was a helpless feeling seeing people forced to jump out of the buildings...... But they know they had to get up and save people lives.....that's just what they did....it was the largest evacuation rescue in the history of the World....... All due to the heroic Acts of Firefighters, Police,. Civilians, and passengers on flight 93...... God bless you and Never Forget September 11!!
Yes i was present
Do you mean Engine Co 10 or Ladder Co 10? If not, I think you may be looking in the wrong place.
Yeah
The memorial wall around the corner always can use polishing
I was able to visit it a number of years ago... But I got lucky. I knew a guy who knew a guy who was a firefighter there.
