Despite some challenges in working out all the details of design, wood selection and fabrication, and dealing with COVID supply chain issues along the way, he persevered and delivered a first-class heirloom project. I've been buying live edge slabs from Matt for several years now. He has great stuff at very reasonable prices. Very knowledgeable as well. I also use some of his machine services. His wide belt sander is a real time saver!

It was my pleasure to meet Matt and work with him on my next projects. He made time and rearranged his schedule to meet me over the Thanksgiving weekend as I was traveling through Pittsburgh back to New York. An amazing resource, Matt was patient and collaborative as he educated me. As an amateur live edge furniture crafter, I was amazed at Matt's expertise and he gave me a Master's-level course in the two hours I was with him as I wandered through his shop and picked through his massive stock of live-edge slabs. He's probably forgot about his trade than I will ever know : ) For sure, the next time I'm in Pittsburgh I'm going to stop, even if it's just to pick his brain.

Purchased some nice walnut slabs for a rocking chair build. Matt at MPI has a nice selection of lumber and is reasonably priced. He is very easy to work with and went above and beyond to make sure I had what I needed. Also was nice to buy local trees, which he knew the stories behind them! Highly recommend MPI.
