Scheduling Dept. is poor. Sched'd for 2pm at Outpatient (upper GI s an), then resched'd for 130 by calling at noon, for another building! Imagine if I'd never ben there before. Got there, parked until.after 4pm! Who has the parking money for six hours? Lovely longterm hospital but awful outpatient at main hospital.

I have no idea what happened to the quality care at UT Southwest. The ER is poorly run and needs some major improvements! I hate to go to ER if it’s not a emergency, but I seriously felt like this was emergency. I should’ve known that coming to this ER was a mistake, when I had to disclose my personal health information to the entire room of people. I can’t believe this hospital don’t have the funds to build a intake room for patients, so people can have privacy discussing their health. What happened to the HIPPA law? I was in the ER not feeling good and hearing other people personal illness, as they did intake. I felt embarrassed and I know others coming in had to have felt embarrassed too. The ER waiting area around midnight was dirty. The wait was about a hour long surprisingly, and then I was told to come to the back for my room. I had to walk a long way to room! I had already informed the intake lady that I was short of breath, so I didn’t understand why a wheelchair wasn’t provided. I felt like I was going to pass out walking down the hall to get to the room. When I see my ER room it was dirty! The lady nurse told me to put on gown and I noticed food on blue bed sheet. She didn’t have it changed! She just laid a sheet over it like it was nothing. Some of the medical staff seemed nice, but others seem like they’re in the wrong profession. I got test ran and not once asked if I was in need of anything. I was experiencing pain and anxiety, and didn’t get any treatment for my discomfort. It’s like you just suffer there until you get a answer on what is going on. It doesn’t matter what kind of insurance you got, you will be treated poorly! These so called medical professionals don’t care about your well-being. They treated me like a fast food restaurant. They took test and since I wasn’t dying, wrote me useless medication and sent me on my way. My blood pressure being extremely high is actually normal to Doctors , just like my blood work showing I could be at risk for blood clots, or my X-ray showing abnormal growths. It’s not serious yet, I just need to come back when I’m dead, and then they can see me. I did not get my symptoms treated properly. I’m now at home feeling ill and miserable, and have to wait to see my primary to figure if I have something serious like Cancer going on. The ER will find some abnormal stuff, but feel it’s not that serious yet to admit you. This it what causes people to give up on trying to seek help. You have people in the medical field treating people poorly! The entire medical system is trash now! You have to be your own Doctor unfortunately. These Doctor’s and nurses today are terrible! I will never go to this ER again!

My mom has been to this hospital twice. The best hospital and the best nurses I have ever met. God bless you greatly.

I know they take Medicare, and I'm pretty sure they take most insurance.
There is a sofa that a visitor can sleep on in each room
Yes they can. My Dad is in their just got out of ICU and was moved to a regular room. I spent the night in ICU as well as his room. Only one person a day can visit. You can switch out the next day. Once you go and leave no other visits that day.
I doubt it, most parking is in a garage with very few outside lots around the campus. I suggest giving them a call as they may have some ideas on places not too far away...
It is during the week
I don't believe that surgery would take place at Clements Hospital. It might take place at Zale Lipshy or more likely at the Outpatient Surgery Center. I know the OSC has a garage right across the street. I would say 2-3 minutes from wjere you parked to the inside of OSC, maybe less. I've never been to Zale though, not sure what the walk would look like there.
I think 48
Depends on what color elevator, there’s two parking garages near. One is across from ER & one is behind the building, they also have valet that’s $5.00
Yes
No but with covid even if they did they wouldn't. The numbers are high right now, even with blankets you have to wait until you are checked in now because so many have been coming in sick they don't want cross contamination
Yes, small fee upon leaving. Card machine

Yes there is and it is open from 6am to 2am everyday
Y es and yes
I don't know. I am on BCBS that is privately insured and only administered by BC and it was out of network for me. Best to call and be sure. Call a couple times cause I was given bad info. Good luck.
I am not sure, but what many patient's families do is call the hotels nearest the hospital, and those near the airport, and inquire with them to find prices and negotiate a rate. Hope this helps!
The gift shop have flowers
Some floors (ICU, pulmonology, etc) don't allow flowers but some do. You can take them directly to the find that allow them after stopping at the nurses' desk - or the gift shop can send balloons or other gifts straight to the room :-)
Regular car size fan size no big trucks
Yes.nursery Yes.insurance medicaid. No they don't That's on you
Depends which elevators you have to take. They're the ones with blue doors and the ones with green doors. I had to take each set of elevators to see my son when he was in ICU and when he was in a regular room when he had cancer. The front desk will tell you which elevators you need to take in order to see your loved one. Wish I could help more. Good luck in finding your answer.
Depends on how sick they are. I stayed with my soon everyday. Family and friends came to visit also. They are awesome!!!!
The guest service desk is at the very front entrance. They will guide you through where you need to go
No. There is one right across the street and several within 1 to two exits.
No. Clements University Hospital building is only 3.5yrs old. It was built to replace St. Paul building that they demolitioned 6 months after the move into Clements
Really
There is a patient parking garage right next to the ER entrance off Record Crossing Rd. Self-park rate is $3/day or $5/day valet (for valet you can just pull up to the front entrance of the hospital off Harry Hines).
