Still requiring the use of Surgical Masks even though they are not rated to prevent viral or bacterial infection. And despite the fact I’m a Asthmatic who shouldn’t have their airway blocked even after telling them this. Additionally they are still requiring face masks despite the fact the CDC, WHO and The US President all day that COVID-19 is over and you’d think the Medical Community would be following the Advice of World Health Experts to include their revered Doctor Fauci. additionally in Texas it’s against the law via executive order to force people to wear a mask. So this hospital is stupid in at least 5 ways.

They tried to kill me. I went to ER with an abscess, I was on the verge of going septic. The ER staff was great but the hospitalist admitted me for IV antibiotics, which was fine, but the first thing he did was stop all of my home meds, cold turkey, off of my antidepressants and my antipsychotics. I didn’t think much of it at first because I figured he would order them and I would get them in the evening or at least the following day. Nope. Well that was the first problem. Then, on day 3, they made me NPO after midnight and said I may or may not be getting an incision and drainage sometime after 3 pm but they didn’t know fir sure because the surgeon wasn’t there that day, he was in clinic and I wasn’t on the surgery schedule. They called the surgeon but were unsuccessful at reaching him. I was not receiving IV fluids and their plan was to leave me NPO for 18 hours without IV fluids and I am a diabetic. When I asked about this all they could tell me was it was protocol. So no psych meds, no IV fluids and no surgeon. And then they couldn’t understand why I was having a complete meltdown. This tends to happen when you take someone off of their meds. I left AMA. The last problem I have is when reading my discharge notes the hospitalist blatantly lied and documented that she spoke to the surgeon and he was planning to do an incision and drainage later in the day. What a lie since he wasn’t even there that day and she had already told me that she couldn’t reach him. It never occurred to the “RN” to call the Dr. For IV fluids or something to calm me down. Wow, where did she get her license from? That is basic nursing. If you have an emergency this hospital is fine but God help you if you get admitted. Run. Run to a hospital downtown, any hospital. Even THR downtown. Any hospital would be better than this one.

If I could give a negative 5 stars I would. My sister dislocated her shoulder along with breaking that same shoulder. The Dr yelling at xray tech trying to help due to xray tech negligence, the nurse unable to put in an iv due to her lack of professionalism. The xray department not getting any clear images after several attempts. The Dr attempting to put it back in several times but can only do so much without a supportive staff behind him.these are just a few things that have taken place. The level of rudeness by the receptionist, the nurse and the staff as a whole goes far beyond anything I've ever witnessed. They released my sister in a hospital gown STILL with a dislocated and broken shoulder stating they just can't fix this....WOWWWWWW , I don't think any person should ever EVER be treated so poorly. I attempted to get hospital administration and was told by operator that they dont put the president on the phone just because someone is having a problem. IF YOU LOVE YOUR FAMILY MEMBER AND HAVING AN EMERGENCY DO NOT COME TO THIS HOSPITAL!!!!!

I’ve had to come to the ER twice over the past year. The first time I came here, it was by chance as the ambulance transporting me dropped me here. The second time, I didn’t need an ambulance and chose to come here based off the last time. Everyone is so incredibly nice and accommodating. Every single person I have interacted with in both visits has been super attentive to my needs, and treated me like they truly cared and everyone I interacted with on both occasions left me with the impression that they work at this hospital because they want to help people and help people get better. I will continue to come here for any emergency situations (of course, trying to avoid those at all costs lol) and recommend to anyone if you have the choice in selecting an emergency care provider, you choose this one.
