My mother found the most stunning and elegant mother-of-the-bride dress at A Step Ahead! The staff their was a pleasure to work with and went above and beyond to make sure that my mom found a perfect, timeless gown for my special day! Thank you!

You guys don’t understand how grateful i am i found this store. I came here once for my s16 then again for my prom. The lovely ladies that work there have always been so helpful and i couldnt thank them enough. I will let the pictures speak for themselves… i ended up going with the green and I seriously could not be happier. I am a very very very happy customer i couldnt thank you ladies more!

If I could give them zero stars I would!! I had THREE different problems with THREE different dresses. The first dress I liked but was still unsure about so they told me I could put a deposit on the dress and then come back after I have had time to think about it. They assured me the dress would be safe as I PAID the deposit. When went back and the dress was gone, they had sold the dress I put a deposit on. The second dress I tried on in black and I fell in love with the style. They looked everything up and assured me they could order the dress in pink for me. I said yes and was very pleased. Happy only lasted about five minutes, because as we went to the register to pay they then informed me they actually could not get me the dress in pink (which is the complete opposite of what they said only 5 minutes before). The third dress I tried on and I loved but I wanted to alter the back, all of them assured me it was possible and it would maintain the shape of the dress. I believed them. I finally went in for my fitting about 3 months later and I did not even get to see or speak with a seamstress. However I did get no attention and then they told me that if I made the changes and the alterations that I bought the dress with the intention of, the dress would not look the same and would fit completely different. I was originally told it was be no problem and it would be perfect, now they are saying the opposite. I took my final dress and left, I do NOT trust them to touch my dress. This is one of the worst places, I gave them the benefit of the doubt multiple times and only got repeatedly hurt in the process. If you choose to go, be prepared for pushy people who do not listen to what you want for YOUR OWN occasion, no attention, and an overly crowded fitting room with too many people trying on dresses.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful this store is! The women who run the shop are authentic, genuine, kind, caring and so helpful. They treat ever girl like she is their own daughter. They make them feel beautiful and listen closely to their concerns and assuage their fears. Even when the store was busy, they were still incredibly patient and attentive to both my daughter and to me. They totally understand great customer service and they made the stress of buying a prom dress such a pleasant experience.

Hi, Unfortunately we don't buy back used prom dresses, but we are a drop off spot for the Cinderella Project in Stamford, run by Holly Hyman. Holly gathers gently used dresses and gives them to girls who are in need of a prom dress in the area. We also donate dresses to schools in Bridgeport, Ct. and Greenburgh, N.Y.
