The CDL medical exam is $100 but there are discounts that are worth $5 each: active or retired US military (with proof), an active TWIC or SWAC card, proof of membership in the Teamsters or Local 472.
The DOT medical card - you are in and out of my office in 30 minutes complete with the paperwork. A quick DOT drug screen is done in 10 minutes with immediate results (not an official test, just to be used as informative) . An official DOT drug screen where the results go on your record (it has to analyzed by a laboratory) are returned in 24 hours (for a negative) M-F. Weekend drug screens take longer by one day
It has not been legal to pay for a CDL medical card using any form of insurance since 2013. Any certified medical examiner (CME) accepting insurance in payment for a CDL medical exam is in violation of federal law and will be punished with being stripped of their state medical license as well as facing federal charges.
We accept cash, credit, or debit.
Thank you for your question! Controlled high blood pressure is not a problem to receive a CDL medical card. You need to take your medicine about 2 hours before you come to our office (even if you normally take it at night or early in the morning on that day you should alter your medicine schedule). Tell me the name of the medicine and the dosage Tell me the name of your prescribing doctor and their phone number. If your BP reading is 140/90 you can receive a 1 year card If your reading is 130/ 90 OR LESS you can receive a 2 year card. Even if you get a 1-year card you are still eligible for a 2 year card if your BP improves during the year.
We use a Snelling chart only. If you want to bring in the results of a prior eye exam we can accept it as long as it is less than 3 months old. This is true for a blood pressure reading (140/90 or less) or a HbA1c exam (a reading of 8 or less), as well
