Absolutely disappointing. Please, AVOID this apartment so that you can enjoy your journey at NYC. All kinds of annoying issues popped out from time to time. The broken toilet, colored water from pipes, a sudden waterfall from the ceiling (due to some broken pipe). I contacted the maintenance team many times for the toilet issue, but they were super slow on fixing it. I visited the leasing office to communicate my toilet issue, but Ms Karen Cook didn't even show up to talk... I only heard her voice coming from the bedroom area. Another lady sitting at the table briefly talked to me, told me that they could do nothing about this. Also BE AWARE that they take super long to refund the security deposit. My request to have my deposit refund was ignored for weeks and it's been a month now, still haven't received it. Some guy replied my email saying that they were off because of holiday (who knows which one). Wish me the best of luck getting my money back!

Very small studio, bathroom, and single closet. I'm a minimalist and had no room to store anything. I was happy with the price I paid during the pandemic (2020), but would not pay to renew here. I never had any issues with management or staff. Yes, it's an old building and the elevators sometimes don't work. Overall, I would stay here again if I needed something temporarily.

Apartment was pretty good, never really had any maintenance issues. Elevators were a bit slow and the front desk people were generally nice. My issue therein with the apartment lies almost strictly with the management. Karen, well I think the name says enough. Absolutely rude, disrespectful and completely unprofessional. How people like her have the job that she has is beyond me. I would rent this place again solely on the basis that she no longer works at this apartment building. Is it enough off putting that I would not rent again if she still works here? Absolutely. Do yourself a favor and find a building with slightly cheaper rent, and management that actually cares about its tenants.

The management company is rude and unprofessional, starting with Karen from the leasing office. After being passed around on the phone after learning that my rent would be raised $1,300, I was told that she didn’t care that I was disappointed, that it wasn’t her fault I decided to rent during Covid-19, and that this is real life so I should get used to it. The rent is not nearly worth it, there’s construction around the building, the elevators are eternal, the doormen are on their phone and don’t even look up, and the gym is missing half the equipment.

While not a Landmark Designated building, that sign is over 60 years old, and the original owner was persuaded to restore it for the character and history of the UWS. (I've lived in this building for 28 years, and I love it...my apartment and the sign and the crew who maintains the building, to be specific.)
Yes.
This is too late for your question, but in the future, Carmines can be accessed through the Greystone"s lobby.
I've lived here for 28 years, and I believe he moved several years ago. I'll ask, though.
