Being by the Upper Iowa River while watching and listening to Dunning Spring rolling into it was exciting. The coldness and roaring of the spring was amazing. The experienced fisherman was explaining how the warm river water and the rushing spring water merging created a perfect spot to fish. It sure was for him. He caught 7 keepable fish. A perfect day.

This place is a hidden gem located in northeast Iowa. Wow! We have driven across the country and seen waterfalls that were not as nice as this one. From the parking area is is an easy 200 yard walk up to the base of the falls. The walk is all shaded and with the cool water running along the trail it is a very comfortable walk. Located in beautiful Decorah, Iowa. Check it out!!!

Great place to sit and listen to the steam at the base of a natural waterfall, go on steep hikes, or climb the stairs to the left to the top. Ice cave is a 10 minute walk up the road as driving is now prohibited and blocked off.

The water isn't deep enough to swim. At deepest it came up to about my shins.
