Excellent facility. Extremely well run. The staff know the residents and truly care for them. The premises are clean and well maintained. The Chelsea at Fanwood has a very family feel. Highly recommend.

My mom lived at the Independent Living section of The Chelsea for more than two years. She loved that she didn't have to take care of a whole house--and she was able to make new friends, something that can be difficult in your 90s. She also enjoyed her spacious, sunny apartment, the outside terrace and weekday cocktail hours, where she and her new friends gathered, the rides to the stores... She especially looked forward to the excellent twice-weekly, no-pressure but challenging exercise classes, led by a wonderful teacher.

They vary and they usually have monthly specials.
My understanding is that you have to pay out of pocket for 2 years before Medicaid can be used.
