I was a client there from 2003-2006. I'm a white male. There were 2 rooms and at bedtime-no beds. We had to sleep in one(1!!!!) hard chair and rest our heads on the table. We were given a locker. There we cameras recording 24/7 with the capability to be played back. Why? Because the many animals that stayed there would rob you when you slept. My brand new sneakers were stolen, several other items. The "Big Cheese" came in the next morning, he acted as though I was putting him out. Of course he made some excuse why he couldn't identify the their. Other clients fell victim too many times to count also. Never did they get their property back or was the culprit ID'd. It took 3 years for my caseworker(who was on methadone and I witnessed NODDING ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS) to FINALLY get me housed(1BR in the Bx). I don't know what changes have been made since 2006, but from the top to the bottom, EVERY employee was useless, curmudgeonly and quite frankly, ghetto in their speaking, attitude and behavior.
