If I could give no stars I would. I applied for my name change and citizenship status changed almost 2 months ago. They returned it to the wrong address. I have called NUMEROUS times and they have sent Numerous E-mails to Mandy Deans. I have yet to receive a call or any information on returning my certificate. Or any tracking information.

Got my ticket printed to see someone at 12:34pm and was out of there by 1:30. Not a bad wait time considering I didn't have an appointment. The gentleman that helped me was a veteran and was very pleasant and friendly. 5 Stars for sure.

I was a little nervous when I arrived and saw about 50 people waiting and hearing that people were there 90 mins to 2 hours. I was there for my daughter's replacement card. My number was called in under 30 minutes. My customer service experience was excellent. Anna was the representative that assisted me. She was very polite and thorough. I was not able to self check my daughter for E Verify bc only being 17. I told Anna that the website states that a temporary replacement can be printed T the SSA office and she said "I dont go on the website so I dont know what it says, I just go by what my manager tells me", My recommendation is that they should all familiarize themselves with the SSA website to better assist the customers. That comment is a cop out and lack of willingness to go the extra mile. They seem to not have the feeling of empowerment in their positions. In The 30 minutes, I was there , all I heard was complaints on how rude the reps are and that they should attend customer service trainings. They should hire more people to accomodate the demand. I was satisfied with my visit but see room for improvements at this office .

Came to change my last name after getting married.... Sat for over 90mins got through 4 people... Definitely need more people for something simple like changing a last name.

You can call them and make an appointment for in person, but it's only for dire circumstances. Most instances you can print and fill out a form to mail to the SS office and have it completed. You can still call the phone line and get a representative, it just takes a little bit to get through the automated selections. I called and talked to someone and they just directed me to print and mail a form so I'm in the process of doing that. Hope I answered your question, good luck!
Best bet is to check online. I'm not sure how the process works. I went in as a walk in . And the timing was acceptable for me

Its best to make an appointment, otherwise first thing in the morning.. wenseday or Thursday.
It states on the instructions to send it to your local social security office.
From what I read, if your total income exceeds $25,000 per year you will have to pay taxes on all of it.
