John knows everything about Kenai river being in the area for over 20 years. Went on the trip with family of four and John worked hard to make sure everyone caught fish. We caught trouts and dolly vardens with different techniques. We also "flossed" two sockeye salmons that fed our friends and us for two days, even though it was between runs in early July. Great conversations about nature and the local environment. The float itself was beautiful and relaxing. We saw quite a few bald eagles, and floated under one that eventually took off on top of us.

As the wife of said Kenai River Guide (it's me, Heather!) I may be just slightly biased when I say that YES! absoultely, John Pearson is the best Kenai River guide there is! I also believe he is the most handsome, funniest, strongest, best storyteller, most thoughtful, sweet, hardworking, patient, insprining, and fun person in the entire world. And absoultely, the most entertaining person to fish with on the planet. All my bias aside, John started guiding on the Upper Kenai River in 2001 and has guided full time every season since. We have been year-round residents of Cooper Landing since 2003 and bring all the local knowledge and expertise that comes along with that. Cheers!
We love kids! John is a father of two daughters and has the patience and sense of humor that really helps kids enjoy their time on the water. We work with a network of wonderful Kenai River Fishing Guides and are happy to arrange more boats for larger family groups when needed.
We provide all the gear you will need to fish the Kenai River with us including quality fly and spinning rods/reels, and all tackle. We also provide lifejackets, chest waders, and rain gear. Our drift boat is a clean and comfortable 20 foot Fish Rite aluminum boat. We do not provide food/drink or fishing licenses.
We offer half day (4 hours on the water) and full day (8 hours on the water) trips on the Upper Kenai River fishing for rainbow trout, dolly varden, and salmon. We offer fly fishing and spin fishing trips and are happy to tailor your trip to give you the exact angling experience you are looking for.
