As a young adult who has needed the same medication for the last decade which consist of being a drink, I’ve become very taste specific. I formerly went to another major chain and always had massive issues with customer service. In the last 4 months I’ve switched to rite aid on south Broadway in salem NH and have always has a pleasant and wonderful experience with ALL staff. The moment I walk in the door I am ALWAYS greeted, and I am treated with such respect from all. More recently I had an issue with a manufacturer change of my medicine which was intolerable for me. I reached out to the pharmacist who asked me what the former NDC # was. At that moment I was out of luck, and had to go back to CVS for that one fill. CVS should when been the one to pull the script from rite aid but they are useless and the pharmacy manager helped me with this too! The Manager treated me with the upmost courtesy and stayed on top of trying to help me gain access to the couple of manufacture brands I could tolerate. Pharmacy Manager Edwin Ngaruiya needs to be praised on the amazing patient care he provides. I am entirely grateful to have my normal medicine back as my life truly depends on it, and having to drink 4-6oz of this med 2x a day is crucial to being tolerable and he understood this. At no point did I ever feel like a burden to him, or anyone on his team. I truly am grateful, and we will no longer go anywhere else. Edwin, from the bottom of my heart, Thank you! I can only hope someone higher up sees this and provides you the gratitude you are so deserving of. As a manager in healthcare myself, it means the world to me. The store itself is great, the pharmacy however is an entirely different story. And I would STRONGLY urge people to go elsewhere for their prescriptions. Here is a summary of the many fiascos I’ve had here thus far. Since I moved and switched to this pharmacy about a year ago, I’ve had more issues within just this year - than I have for the 16 years combined at my previous pharmacy. Beyond their inability to fill anything in a timely manner - I.E. they’ll give you wildly incorrect wait times (and will never call to let you know it’ll be later than expected) Or better yet, they’ll give you the typical 1 hour wait - you’ll arrive 2 hours later, and they’ll be an issue with stock. So it was never filled, and won’t be in for another day - yet they won’t call you to inform you of any of this. Ensuring that you’ll waste your already limited time that day. (In my case, I stop by after work - it tacks on an additional 40 minutes to my day, due to traffic). And many other similar issues. I thought numerous times that calling in a refill the DAY BEFORE and scheduling a pick up time later the next day would be smart…but they once again, would end up being HOURS behind the scheduled time…even when calling the day before in advance. (And of course, won’t call you, etc - so if you run there during your lunch break, you’ll end up wasting it for no reason like I have before). I’ve had pill counts for controlled substances off , sometimes resulting in anywhere from 1-4 ADDITIONAL or missing pills - on three separate occasions. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. I won’t even get into the blatantly rude attitudes some of the employees have here, or how ‘annoyed’ they always seem whenever you have any kind of question. I can only imagine what other people hate dealt with. This place needs to be legitimately looked into. Beyond the terrible way it’s ran, the issues with counts, etc - could lead to serious problems down the line.
