Well maintained trail.

good hike with a reasonable challenge and beautiful views at the top. i would rate this at five star if the trail was marked better. we wasted alot of energy, time and water, about an hour from the top when we followed a well worn path that wasn't the trail...we eventually back tracked to find a marker but it was not easy to find the correct trail back up.

Beautiful trail through the woods to Connery Pond, Whiteface Landing, McKenzie Mtn Wilderness and ultimately Whiteface Mountain. The trail starts here, except in winter when you must park along Hwy 86. For XC skiiers, the first ridge is challenging both up and down but the trail is then quite mellow out to the landing. It's posted 3.7 miles from the start of Connery Pond Road to the landing.
