After a friend of mine was in a terrible car accident causing a broken arm, severe concussion, cracked ribs and a punctured lung, he refused to give her a refund. She is a travel nurse, and was very excited to start her new assignment in Maine and now cannot work because of this accident. He was completely NOT understanding or compassionate towards her in any way.

We spent two nights at Forest Ridge. The campground is clean, small, and the people are exceptionally nice. They have a wealth of information of things to do and places to eat. They know the best places to go in Acadia NP, and were very helpful. The sites are level, clean and the hookups are in good working order. Try the blueberry pie at Union River Lobster Restaurant. It's delicious!! We enjoyed our stay very much.

This was one of the best campgrounds we have ever been to. Friendly and welcoming with great recommendations, clean and quiet, with magnificent amenities; beautiful nature walk, pool, cable for rainy days. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star was a simple text after we left blaming us for a missing peice and just charging my card automatically for a replacement without giving us an opportunity to see if maybe we accidentally took something that wasn't ours. After receiving the text, we pulled right over on the highway rest stop to check our gear, but only found our own (which was what we had to use at the site). It was a little bit of a let down to be charged so quickly without a courtesy call. Although it was a cheap charge, it's a shame that cheap charge couldn't have been footed by the profit of the 5 nights we stayed there instead of blaming and charging us for something that may have been missed in a previous site check.

I stayed here for 3 months, while working in the area. Owners are wonderful people. They expect the campers to behave and can blunt about the rules but never mean. Every interaction I have had with them was friendly. The sites are nice and quiet. For being close to the main road you barely hear any road noise. I would recommend this place to anyone without kids looking for a quiet place with good access to town. Cell service is good as well.

Are we allowed to keep a camper trailer there year around? Is there year around campground caretakers?

Karen, Not sure exactly what you are asking. If you are asking if you can live in the camper there year round the answer is no. We are open May1st to Oct 15th. You can leave your camper there from Oct 16th to Apr 30th for storage only. We live close by and check on the property weekly, but we do not maintain or plow the roads. Hope this helps. Jeff
