August 2022 Visit | Constructive Feedback! First, I have been visiting this Korean Spa since 2008, that’s 14-years of visits. I believe that management has changed. Second, I am very familiar with the detailed “head-to-toe” Korean massage technique for the “face” and “full body.” I was used to the “finger pressure technique,” especially for my face. You see the facial massage I used to receive alleviated the stored-up stress in my face. I loved it so much that sheer excitement swirled in my eyes once done. The finger pressure applied to my brain and temples during the hair washing and condition experience was also delightful. For that reason, I would take the drive although I do not live in the area where Sun’s Day Spa is located. Since 2008, I have been used to paying for the package up front, receiving a key, and a “robe.” My August visit, I did not receive a robe when I asked. The female said it was due to COVID-19. I shook my head and proceeded to the locker room. However, when I was getting dressed, I saw females who entered the locker room with robes in their hands. I was like “wow!” All visitors should receive a robe once they pay for a package. There should be no discrimination and a lame statement about COVID-19. My eyelids fell as I tried to calm my racing heart. Sun’s Day Spa must remember that “customers” keep the spa “open” and everyone should be treated equally and with kindness. Lastly, the female’s frown deepened on her face as she gazed at the $20.00 tip, which was a little more than 15% for the $130.00 spa package. I fixed a SNOOTY gaze on the female and dropped white hand towel on the wooden bench in locker room and got dressed. I had internal dialogue driving home about the visit and was like, Sun’s Day Spa moved the cucumber mask to the next spa package, continuously shoved the “honey treatment” down my throat, and “finger pressure massage technique was not exactly on point and the female tried to snub me. I immediately dismissed her behavior! “A tip is a courtesy not a requirement!”

I got a Swedish massage and it was great. My only gripe is that my friend and I were asked to pay upfront for our services, but a Caucasian couple who were leaving paid on their way out and that did not sit right with us. We weren't sure if they made everyone pay upfront but obviously not. My friend did a combination spa and was not satisfied with the cheap products used and was also asked for a $20 tip.
