Overall, a good place to live. The location is about as good as you can get in Fredericksburg. Very central and close to everything. The apartment complex is quiet and very pretty. Communication with the office is practically non-existent, but that's unfortunately how most apartment complexes are. They very rarely answer the phones. The maintenance personnel were very good and professional. I enjoyed my time living there and would recommend it to anyone moving to the area.

My edited review: everyone was super nice and patient with me, while I was anxiously waiting for a reply (the housing market is crazy right now!) but they made sure to answer all of my questions thoroughly and put my mind at ease. I’m really excited to be joining this community

People smoke inside the washer & dryer units making everything smell like smoke. If you don’t get a top floor unit, you will hear every. single. thing. your above head neighbors are doing. Ours apparently love running and jumping at 9-10pm especially. This is not a place you will find peace and quiet. Constant police activity & ambulances roll through here. ROAD PIRATES (tow truck companies) come through at midnight, so you best better have a parking sticker & all of your registration up to date. ROACH infestation from the day we moved in. Rotten counter tops & outdated appliances. You really get the “landlord special” with these units. They will paint over anything, including hair & bugs. Drip marks all over the place. They will not allow you to do a walk through until you’ve signed the paperwork. Good luck!

The commons is a quiet and friendly place to live, the staff on always so polite and the grounds are kept very clean. When you call for repairs they take care of it a soon as possible. I would recommend the commons at cowan to anyone. Good place to live!
