I have worked with Mary Worthy for a number of years. She has colloborated on numerous cases with me that eventually were served by Sandstpne and the treatment and services provided were excellent. I value the relationship that our organization has with Sandstone Care and with Mary Worthy.

Yes, we work with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and many other co-occurring mental health needs. We also treat primary mental health at our Rockville Center for Depression, Trauma, and Anxiety. We have both a Psychiatrist and Psychologist on staff as well as many licensed therapists.

Yes. Sandstone Care has certified teachers onsite at each of our locations to help support teens with schoolwork. That being said, we are not an accredited school that they can graduate from. However, we do provide structured academic support as part of our program. This includes helping individuals through tutoring, homework assistance, college application prep, grade recovery, and educational mentoring.
The teens and young adults at Sandstone Care are bright and creative spirits who have been impacted by a variety of mental health issues. Typically, they are struggling with, or have experienced, anxiety, depression, trauma, and/or substance use. Individuals with a history of violence, are actively suicidal or psychotic, that have severe and persistent mental illness such as schizophrenia, or that exhibit behavioral issues that would disrupt the treatment milieu are not appropriate for Sandstone Care. Each client is carefully screened by the admissions team and the Program Director, and if needed, the Executive Clinical Director and Medical Director for appropriateness.
An assessment will be made to determine the level of care needed for each individual person. An assessment at Sandstone Care involves one of our licensed clinicians, the individual considering our program, and their respective family member(s). The purpose of the assessment is to better understand an individual’s and family’s unique situation to determine the appropriateness of fit and which level of care is medically necessary. The assessment process is typically in person at our clinical offices and lasts 1.5 - 2.0 hours, with the majority of the time spent with our licensed clinician and the individual considering our program.
Yes, Sandstone Care utilizes Medication-Assisted Treatment to ease the recovery transition and support each client’s specific needs. Our program combines medication, therapy, and other treatments. To begin the process, clients go through a clinical assessment to determine if MAT is the right choice as part of their long-term recovery.
We offer a continuum of care for teens and young adults struggling with substance use, addiction, and mental health needs in an outpatient setting. Our programs include extended residential, day treatment, intensive outpatient treatment -- in-office and Virtual IOP, after-school recovery, and sober living.
Our staff is here to help restore lives - they don’t take that job lightly. Team members are all fully credentialed, incredibly caring, and always willing to chat. Each client has a multidisciplinary team, which includes a psychiatrist, individual therapist, family therapist, and teacher.
Day Treatment and Intensive Outpatient levels of care typically last 60 - 90 days. Individuals then step down to our aftercare program (general outpatient) which can last up to 150 additional days (5 months). Everyone’s journey to recovery is different. That being said, everyone's journey to recovery is different. There is no set time period for treatment to become effective for everyone.
The program offers up to 17 hours per week of clinical services including group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy sessions, academic and vocational support, and community activities.
We offer age-specific programs for teens (ages 13–17) and young adults (ages 18–30). For young adults participating in our Extended Care Program, we have a sober living residence for men, ages 18–30, and partner with local sober living programs to provide sober living for young adult women.
