I stayed there a few nights ago. Initially, I was a tad skeptical if I would like it, since the room was small. But the bed was comfy, and I got to watch True Grit and a few episodes of Harley Quinn on the television. Great shower. Additionally, I liked the overall design of the place. I highly recommend it.

Great location, clean room, comfortable bed, friendly lady at the front desk. We stayed in the rooms with the shared bathrooms down the hall. I appreciate being able to book a budget price but feel like a boutique experience. There is not a lot of insulation to sound of other guests walking or talking in their rooms or hall, but everyone seemed to be pretty quiet and settle in early. Perfect place for budget conscious roadtrippers or backpackers.

Adorable, trendy hotel in Astoria. Cute little lobby with toiletries and vintage clothing for sale. Room was spotless and beds are super comfy! I like that they have robes for walking to the communal bathrooms (each room also has it's own sink for brushing teeth etc.) Showers have good quality shampoo, and you can see the efforts to be green (mason jars rather than plastic cups, shampoo dispenser instead of tiny bottles). The tvs have built in dvd players and there's tons of old dvds in the lobby you can borrow. Love these little details! Only downside was our room was pretty hot but I think that's because we were right above the fireplace in the lobby, we just opened the window and were fine. Also it's an old building so the walls are thin - my bf and I were watching the Goonies on my laptop at like 10:30 and our neighbour knocked on our door asking us to turn it down lol (sorry!) Also street parking is free overnight 👍👍 Overall awesome stay at a super reasonable price. Would definitely stay here again!

Ok... Here's the deal. My wife and planned a last-minute trip to Astoria. We booked our room five hours before checking in and without reading the reviews. So we will take some responsibility for some of our observations as other reviewers called these issues out previously. We chose to stay here based on the overall price (less than $100) and the location and proximity to great dinner spots and shopping. The location is perfect and the hotel is pretty cool from a decorative standpoint. We selected the small room with shared restroom and shower facilities. The room was tiny! The full sized bed was very comfortable but it was the only piece of furniture in the room. No chair, no bench, nada. The room was overal pretty clean except for the sink. There was gunk all over and obviously hadn't been cleaned. We went to bed at about 10:30pm. At 1:45am, the circUs trainers staying in the room above ours decided to start working with their elephants. I'm sure the show would be great but the noise was horrendous. l could hear every word, step, and movement. There is no insulation in the walls or ceiling and if you happen to get a lower level room and happen to have circus trainers staying above you, prepare to not sleep... at all. Totally unfortunate. Finally, the restrooms and shower room for the floor were very dirty and smelled of mold. There was hair in both bathrooms and the sink in the men's restroom was filthy. There was a broken floor tile in the shower room that moved up and down when stepped on and had sharp edges. The conditioner and body wash in the shower were empty as well. We love staying in cool old hotels such as the Crystal Hotel in Portland. We are always on the lookout for a new favorite stop-off point in our travels. We really wanted this to be one of those favorites but unfortunately cannot recommend staying here. Maybe they will make some changes or it may be better if you stay in one of the upper floor rooms with en suite restrooms. Just note that those rooms are over twice the price.

Questions & Answers

I noticed when booking that it said "Offsite parking reservations required". What exactly does that entail? How do I go about making that reservation or purchasing a parking pass? Thanks!

We have a limited number of parking spaces available for reservation. When you book your room on our website or via telephone, you may add parking to your reservation, according to availability. "Off-site" means the parking lot is located across the street from the hotel Thanks!
