I am that person who bought a ring on eBay. Yes, it was risky, especially not knowing anything about jewelry and trusting a stranger to send me what they advertised. But it was beautiful and old and I fell in love with it. Since the seller offered a 30 day return policy, upon receipt of the ring I immediately took it to Accredited Jewelry along with a family heirloom ring I have had for years and wanted to know the value. They were super friendly and helpful! They explained the process to me very clearly. I left my two rings and waited to hear back from them. The appraisals took about a week. I scheduled an appointment to come back in to review the appraisal reports. The good news is I selected well on my eBay purchase! They went through the entire report with me and also emailed me an electronic copy that I now have for insurance purposes. If I make any more uneducated eBay jewelry purchases I will definitely go back to Accredited Appraisers!
