Dishonest company that takes advantage of disabled veterans. I was referred to OrthoVirginia (Alexandria office) by a Veterans Affairs in-network urgent care. When making the appointment I told them I had VA insurance and they said it would be accepted since I was referred. When I arrived at the appointment I handed them my VA card asked to verify that my VA insurance would be accepted. They assured me the visit would be covered and took down the info from the card. Following the appointment I received a bill from OrthoVirginia with full charges from the visit. Confused, I called them and was told they do not accept VA healthcare insurance. I explained to them that I was told multiple times by the front office prior to the appointment that it would accepted. They refused to acknowledge what I was told by the front desk and demanded full payment. OrthoVirginia will tell you whatever you want to hear to get you in the door. Only after your appointment will you find out the truth. They’ve since hired debt collectors to come after me for the charges they told me would be covered by my insurance.
