Yes
They don't test cats . There are signs and symptoms that you have and look for . Red hot cats , poor acceleration and things of that nature.
Probably slam the door in your face - that's what he did to me - asked him to reattach a exhaust pipe to the manifold ! Nasty attitude issues !
