Tall chairs are just waiting for a hip to break! Very loud environment, could not hear anything.

We shopped at the fresh produce market. Wow! Everything was so good. Restaurants in there looked very good too. Will try on a future visit.

First, EVERYONE is very nice and helpful. The place is generally empty when I go, which may account for the attentive service. Thus far, I'm quite disappointed with Sawgrass Grove. I moved to St. Catherine based upon the excitement of this new venue, the ease of access, etc. Clearly, I over-estimated what it would become and the value it would bring to my daily existence. The place still isn't fully open, with no updates on what is happening with the space, the lack of use of outdoors, etc. Yet, The Villages continues to develop more and more homes, with TONS of advertisement and updates. Why do we not get the same for Sawgrass? It's almost like the managers KNOW they made a mistake and don't know what to do with it. I've tried every venue that is open with fairly decent success. Pizza is best value for what you get, next the burger & fries (but why pay that price?), and then veggies at the market. Pricing for fresh food is comparable to Publix. All "cold" items are overpriced, even for Wholefood pricing. Pricing overall is extremely high for the value and for what I consider a "food court" that you'd find in any mall. The fish tacos had to be taken back. They were cold and very fishy. While there, 4 other customers did the same thing. It is nearly impossible to spend less than $40-$50 there for a meal and a drink. Dessert, while tempting, is basically not happening when you look at the price for a single cookie. Again, not sure of the plan or price point for any of these establishments, other than to turn people away after one experience. There are cheaper options at a better price point, and with equal if not greater flavor. The center bar is nice for hanging out and the bartenders are awesome, but the drinks, pricing and value are way off. A $14 margarita that was almost all ice (see pic). I had MAYBE 3 drinks before it was gone. The $10 margarita is no different. I asked the bartender to give me less ice and he said that the drink would be half full then. There is an entire corner dedicated to "cooking classes" that I imagine will come alive at some point. Still not sure what will happen with the outdoor space either? When/if it does become a stronger destination, I envision difficult parking, long waits for food/beverage, and a limited entertainment line-up. Giving this a 3 star, purely out of courtesy and hope that something will shift with the vendors, The Villages food/beverage management and entertainment. I appreciate that this is a new concept for The Village's designers, but at some point I hope they rethink their choices and revamp the entire space. While I see some positive reviews on Google, word of mouth has not been good. Fingers crossed that I'll be back here with an updated 5 start review.
