Be careful if getting a racket restrung at this shop. I took a lightly used racket worth just under $100 into this store for restringing. The racket was broken during the restringing process performed by the store employee. Since the racket was lightly used, I figured it would be more than fair for me to receive $50 in compensation from the store for the damage. While I asked for $50, the store declined to pay out of pocket for the damages. Instead, the owner offered to sell me a racket for roughly $50 off the retail price. I declined the offer because I would have had to essentially pay the difference between the retail price of a new racket and $50 and I did not want to spend money on a new racket regardless of the cost. There was no disclaimer or advance notice given to me about what happens if the racket breaks during restringing. My guess is that without a signed disclaimer that the store is ultimately responsible by law, however, it’s not worth it for me to pursue further due to the small amount involved. I’m giving a rating of a 2 instead of a 1 because the owner was friendly, was willing to discuss the matter, and let me keep for free roughly $25 in string that the store successfully strung on another racket. Overall, I was disappointed with the experience and I now have one less racket than when I went into the store.
