My family has been going here for near 20 years. This is the first time I've reviewed it. This has always been a great place to go for sushi and very occasionally hibachi because of the cost--we don't go often, only for very special occasions. Last night was my birthday and Friday was my daughter's. We all got together for sushi. We got the Titanic platter to split and added on a couple of small appetizers. We all had beverages of course. What we didn't expect was sticky floors, a dirty bathroom, a 'meh' staff, and gratuity to be added to our check on a Monday evening before 7pm disguised as the word "service". My husband asked the waiter what it was and he said it was gratuity that was split between he and the sushi chef. When did this start Kobe? We were here earlier this year. I can understand it for large parties and late night but this was neither--there were 4 of us. FOUR. It wasn't for the hibachi, it was for the sushi area. They weren't even busy, it was a MONDAY. BAD IDEA, BAD FORM. Next time, You aren't that kind of posh, Kobe. Not even close, you can't even keep yourself clean. I'll just go to Edorrito.

We went for my daughter's birthday dinner. We did get there at a little after 8 on a Monday and had to wait so it was about 810 when we were seated. The chef was awesome and the waitress was friendly. However we did not get our soup and salads because they said "they were out". I asked 2 different waitresses if I could get a slice of cake for my daughter's birthday since our party of 5 did not get a soup or salad. I was told they had to ask the manager. I watched each young lady walk over to the manager and have a conversation and not return with an answer, the manager himself did not address the issue and my request was disregarded. After having worked in a family run stellar service oriented restaurant this was shocking. It seemed more like a money making machine then a restaurant.

Great food and chef. They do not take reservations even when you book a whole table and pay on one check kind of annoying when you expect 10 people to wait an hour for a table

Yes, but there would be a short wait to be seated. It may take longer if you arrive between 530 and 630. Resverations have priority for seating.
Yes. You can pull their menu up on yelp
It is a chain. I'm not sure about Pennsylvania if you Google it it'll tell you all the locations
I estimate that with a drink plus the complete meal, you're looking at roughly $25.00 - $45.00. In my opinion, Kobe is a pretty good value. Bon Appetit!
Service is great. You have a choice of sitting. Food is great
We are offering our hibachi dinner menu with dishes having a soup & salad appetizer, and entrees having white rice, noodles, vegetables and single or combination entree selected.
Thank you for you question. Yes, we do have lunch prices available Monday through Friday, from our lunch hours 11am - 2 pm, with the exceptions for holidays. Included in our lunch prices are sushi specials, lunch bento box specials, and lunch prices for our hibachi single and combination entrees. If you have any further questions, please call the restaurant at 410-931-8900 or respond back to the post.
Hi, it is a Japanese Sesame Salad dressing. The ginger dressing is offered during the entree cooking as an option for dining guest along with the 'yum yum' dressing.
Congratulations on your engagement. Kobe will be a great venue for your event. You should meet with a manager to coordinate and you can assign who eats at which table bc a 25 person will take up more than one table.
It depends what you consider a table. Under normal small party conditions, a table is half the stage. Thats 1 chef, 1 cooking surface, 10 seats. Thats 3 seats per side, 4 seats in front. With large parties, the entire stage is used, meaning 2 chefs, 2 cooking surfaces, and 20 seats around the entire stage area. If your party is over 10, youll need to cal ahead way in advance, so they can make sure an entire area is ready for you.
Be careful. My friend’s card had expired and they would not honor a $100.00 gift card that her teenage son bought. Do you know how long that kid worked today for that card ?
I never asked them that but I'm sure if you call and ask they will tell you
No. Its Kobe "Like" but these are not steaks from cows that have been personally massaged all their lives in the mountains of Japan and slaughter using a hand quilted pillows. If that were the case you'd be paying $80/oz.
