Scruggs funeral home did a wonderful job with my dad. Everything I needed they took care of. They were very attentive. On the day of his funeral the staff did an excellent job. I am very grateful. I will definitely recommend Scruggs.

I attended the funeral of a loved one where the procession used a Toll Road which was verbally expressed to the entire grieving family that we would not be responsible for the toll going to the burial plot and if for some reason we should receive a bill reach out to Scruggs and it would be taken care of. Well I received a bill for $6. I contacted the funeral home (Scruggs) several times and each time I was told someone would return my call. No one ever did. When I complained and wanted to speak to management, I was told I must have kept reaching the voicemail service. I denied it because I actually spoke to a live person that was boring my call and taking my contact information each time. I was then told their voicemail service is a live person. I had to prove that I attended the funeral, and also had to wait for them to research it. Right in the middle of elevated gas prices Scruggs required me to come in person for a letter confirming the toll was used during the procession that I attended. I had to take that letter to the toll customer service in person. Both visits required me to take time off work since neither could be handled after normal business hours. To customer service viewed the letter and it stated Scruggs confirmed my attendance but did not state they would be responsible for it. At this time extra fees have been placed on the late/ unpaid toll fee. A supervisor reached out to Scruggs who denied responsibility even after doing an investigation and confirming it was their route and lane of service for the procession. So I went through all of those extra steps and financial losses for nothing. Moral of the story, don't believe everything Scruggs funeral home says, they will not honor their word. Once they receive the money for their services the families that supported them during such a sensitive time are no longer their customers or their responsibility, while I have no choice but to pay the fee if I want to keep driving legally. Lessoned learned! I will never support this business again and will continue to share this situation with anyone that's looking for recommendations to a stand up funeral home/ services.

To whom it may concern: In past instances I have used services here for my dad, and my mom. A few of my other loved ones as well. I felt compelled to refer my husband to pre plan arrangements for his grandmother whom soon maybe transitioning. I was given a slight attitude when I decided to make his appointment but stilled scheduled. My husband called today , about 902am and due to where he was the called dropped. He called back and a staff member answered, (No name, no mention of the business name) he explained that his called dropped and he was looking to reschedule. The person he encountered he states was rude and now doesn't wish to use services. Now, I want him to because previous experiences you guys were tremendous with my assisting me in such a stressful and hurtful time. I just feel embarrassed that he encountered what I know to not be the true spirit of this business. In these trying times, we need to give just a little more, compassion and patience. We never know when we may made need another's extended kindness. Thank you,
