This was our first time having a massage ever and it was truly a wonderful experience. Traci was so easy to talk to and communicate especially with English not being our first language. She is very humble and aware of our needs. We would say she truly has gifted hands and during the massage she was able to find and soothe the achy/triggered points on our body. She would constantly ask if the pressure was too much or certain points were too tender which was very reassuring and helpful being our first time at a massage. After the massage we felt 100% relaxed and rejuvenated and found ourselves with a lot more energy in the coming days. Traci is an amazing massage therapist and we would highly recommend her expertise.

I saw Austin for cranial sacral therapy for my infant son who had feeding problems and I cannot recommend her and the office enough. The office itself is beautiful and very calming with lots of parking. Austin is a miracle worker! She is so supportive and explains everything she is doing and provides realistic exercises to do at home to support your treatment plan. She also always follows up with a personalized email which is so helpful as a new parent. With her support we were able to reach our goals! Highly highly recommend!

Indigo Physiotherapy is wonderful! It feels like home. When I walked into my appointment today, I started to take my shoes off instinctively, as my own house is shoes free! The quality of care is remarkable. Dr. Sam has helped me through various hip and postpartum related issues throughout the years. Her kind nature makes it easy to discuss what I’m experiencing/feeling. The strategies and exercises which she has shared have been beneficial for treating discomfort, as well as realistic to do on a regular basis. Dr. Jana has empowered me strategies to help take care of my pelvic floor and navigate SI joint difficulties. The therapists and staff have cultivated a judgement free safe space. Their insight and knowledge are unparalleled. I’m beyond grateful for Indigo Physiotherapy!

Indigo provides very compassionate, informed care. It's so nice to be in a space where my issues are understood so well! I was seen for postpartum physical therapy, including pelvic floor therapy and dry needling. The team helped me heal a decade old injury that was exacerbated by my pregnancy and empowered me to feel in control after a difficult pregnancy/postpartum recovery.

Questions & Answers

What does a typical session look like?

Indigo Physiotherapy | Aug 13, 2022
Indigo Physiotherapy | Aug 13, 2022

First, you and your Indigo doctor will discuss your progress since your last visit; covering things like symptom changes and adherence to exercise program. Then the session will likely include some skilled manual work either external or internal depending on your reason for coming into Indigo Physiotherapy. Typically, each session is followed by an exercise component to reinforce the manual therapy that was performed.

What does this kind of therapy entail?

Indigo Physiotherapy | Aug 13, 2022

Typical sessions include patient education, therapeutic exercise, and manual therapy. But first, there is always an initial evaluation, in which you will be seen by a skilled Doctor of Physical Therapy who will perform a comprehensive assessment. From that assessment, they will develop a customized plan of care.

How many weeks postpartum do I have to wait?

Indigo Physiotherapy | Aug 13, 2022

We really prefer to answer this question over the phone in order to discuss the specifics of each patient/ case. If you are experiencing any external symptoms, we can see you as early as week 1. But typically we wait until patients are no longer on pelvic rest, which the doctor usually clears at 6 weeks.

Can Indigo help women prepare for birth?

Indigo Physiotherapy | Aug 13, 2022

Yes - there are many way we assist with preparing for birth, and even in trying to conceive. Once you become pregnant, we like to see you at least once each trimester to educate you and prescribe specific exercises to help you progress through your pregnancy. If you are currently pregnant and would like to be seen, we ask you to provide written consent from your OB/ Midwife that an internal examination can be performed. This can be emailed to us ahead of time or brought with you on the day of your initial evaluation.

Do you offer biofeedback?

Indigo Physiotherapy | Aug 13, 2022
Indigo Physiotherapy | Aug 13, 2022

Yes we do, however we do not use the biofeedback machine. Our doctors and certified Physical Therapists use a manual approach of biofeedback, allowing them to actually feel what the muscles are doing. If you would like to set up a phone consult with an Indigo Physical Therapist to discuss this further, we would love to set that up for you.

How many visits do I need?

Indigo Physiotherapy | Aug 13, 2022

This typically varies person-to-person. Keep in mind that Indigo Physiotherapy is an integrative-based practice, meaning we do not see clients more than once a week. Most of our clients see us every other week to start, and then space out their visits based on progress. We always work closely with clients on determining the right cadence based on their personal needs, progress, and goals.
