Big Lagoon Campground is a gem! Beautiful sunsets, beautiful trees, and beautiful people! Dude is the absolute nicest campground host I've ever came across. Such a kind and genuine guy. I stayed at the big lagoon campground in August 2021 and I (someone who never writes reviews) have meant to write this review since then. The campground is wonderful, Dude keeps the grounds and facilities pristine, making sure to scour the grounds of each campsite picking up every little piece of trash. When we visited, Dude gave us great hiking recommendations and great conversation. He even gifted us a bag of coffee from the local coffee store in town for our travels. More people in this world should be like Dude, kind to people and kind to the planet. 7 months later and we are still left smiling recounting our time spent here, just want to thank you again! Highly recommended!

Super nice campgrounds! It’s first-come-first-serve, and gets quite busy on the weekends. It’s also dog-friendly, which is a plus! Price is $25 per night, with max stay of 7 nights in a row. Not much privacy, but we didn’t mind as we were very close to the beach. The host Dude is very kind and helpful as well! There are restrooms and a coin-operated shower. The only issue I had with the restrooms is that there is no liquid soap dispenser, but only a bar soap. Hopefully, that will change! We were at campsite #2 right at the exit, which is spacious and close to a potable water spigot, albeit the farthest away from the restrooms. Kayaks are also available for rental nearby. Overall, it was an awesome experience!

really in all of the world I love it here I would stay here in my whole life if it wasn't so far from any self-service it's a good spot to kayak gets bought to fish and you can walk past little and straight to the ocean there's elk here. it's pretty wild to look out of your tank and see a giant moose elk in a couple of his girls wandering through the campsite

One of my favorite campgrounds in California. Was able to get a site for 4 nights. The fog just makes for a surreal experience. Host is super nice. There's not too much privacy and some neighbors can get a bit loud on weekends but overall i had a great time.

It was open 4 weeks ago. There were approximately 8 other campers. Everyone kept their distance. I never saw anyone in the bathrooms so I don't know if people were wearing masks. The showers were closed. There appears to be a permanent camp host.
We got there around 7pm. They didn't have any sites available but allowed us to park our travel trailer in overflow alongside the restrooms. Host was very friendly. This was our 10th camping spot along our cross country adventure from WV.
1st come, 1st serve. Get there as early as you can, even on a weekday!
There was a permanent looking camp host. We didn't interact with him. We used a box to pay. I can't answer the other questions.
I do think I saw some tents out there a few days ago but I am not positive
Yes it is there are two full hook up sites for $35 a night and the others are $25 a night. There is also a shower that uses quarters. The campground is ok, get some people who are very loud till the wee hours of the morning though.
Yes they have fire pits and showers. About $1.25 is a good shower. I would bring wood with you though, it can be costly in Trinidad and the camp host way overcharges.
