To get into Washington, DC, I would suggest renting a car or taking a cab or Uber to the New Carrollton Metro station (Metro is the Washington, DC subway system). It’s about a 20 mile drive to New Carrollton. Alternatively, the BWI Airport Amtrak station is about 20 miles away as well. There your can catch either a MARC or Amtrak train into Washington Union Station where you can access the Metro system to get around DC. Marc would be cheaper, but depending upon the day you’re traveling Amtrak may have more frequent service. Both services have great website to give you an idea of their schedules and fares.
