My mother (73) and I (35) have suffered for decades with debilitating depression and anxiety and have searched for most of that time for a treatment that would make our lives worth living. Recently, we researched the efficacy and safety of ketamine infusions through the studies of Johns Hopkins and other reputable hospitals/clinics. This led to Dr Sendi at Nova Health Recovery. We have each finished the initial six treatments and are into the after-care phase. Both of us have had remarkable results with a complete absence of symptoms. During our initial consultation, Dr Sendi was very thorough in both his review of our records, explanation of the brain’s reaction to depression and anxiety, and how the ketamine mitigates their deleterious effects. He spent a lot of time with us and was available before, during and after the infusions, checking with us often about our comfort and how we felt after each. He has also helped me to find the right diagnosis and medication, both of which had been wrong for the last 15 years. His team were wonderful and caring. I cannot recommend highly enough.

I have been a patient at NOVA Health Recovery since late February 2022. After considering Ketamine treatments for several years and the continued lack of success with traditional treatments for depression, I finally decided to pursue them. I had a couple of brief phone conversations with Dr. Sendi prior to my in-office consultation, and in this detailed consultation, he was able to explain 'the mechanics' of what is going on in someone's brain/nervous system so thoroughly and in easy-to-understand terminology, as well as how the treatments work to remedy things. The treatments have been very successful, and I feel the best I have felt in decades. Dr. Sendi and his staff are extremely friendly and professional, and I would highly recommend them to anyone battling treatment-resistant depression.

I was diagnosed with severe post traumatic stress disorder and brain injuries after my deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan as a U.S. Army paratrooper. I suffered from violent debilitating nighttime hallucinations resulting from my brain injuries a few times a week for nearly 20 years. The ketamine therapy sessions that Dr. Sendi has prescribed have reduced the frequency of my nightmares from 3 or 4 per week to less than 1 every few months. Because I have fewer nightmares, my relationships with my wife and children have improved. I never believed that I would be able to sleep without fear before Dr. Sendi's help.

NAD+ Infusions treat oxidative stress, aging related conditions, and are helpful in opiate and alcohol detoxification. NAD+ is a key player in DNA repair machinery and NAD+ levels decrease with age, allowing damage to our DNA to increase over time. NAD+ infusions are used at NOVA Health Recovery for opiate and alcohol detox and for neurological disorders such as Parkinson's Disease, as well as for antiaging treatment.
Ketamine was created in 1962 by Parke Davis and is related to PCP. It is one of the safest drugs in the world with it being included on the World Health Organization list of must-have drugs due to its ease of administration and safety. Spravato is an FDA approved ketamine nasal spray that is slightly different than regular ketamine and was patented and studied for depression. It is a nasal spray used in the office setting only for twice a week for the first month. IV ketamine, which is rapidly effective in depression, PTSD, OCD, anxiety, and pain, is done as a series of infusions over 2-3 weeks. It is a generic drug and has not been sent to the FDA for approval. Just because it is not FDA approved does not mean it is unsafe or ineffective. Many drugs are FDA approved and shown later to be unsafe such as Vioxx and Phen Phen for weight loss. Likewise, other drugs such as aspirin are not FDA approved for the off label use of heart attacks. Ketamine can't be patented.
Suboxone is the brand name of Buprenorphine which comes in a film or tablet form that causes a partial opioid receptor response as opposed to a full response as seen with heroin or opiates. It prevents the opioid system in our body from being completely stimulated and prevents withdrawal symptoms and cravings when taken appropriately. There is a once-a month injection form of Buprenorphine called Sublocade. Subutex has no naloxone in it. Naloxone is included in the medication to prevent injection of the film or tablet. Subutex is used in pregnancy as it has no naloxone and is felt to be safer in pregnancy. We offer Suboxone, Subutex, and Sublocade services at NOVA Health Ketamine Infusion Center 703-844-0184
