I moved there in Jan 2021, initially everything was okay and then they had a 40% rent increase out of the blue which led to multiple people moving out including me. I filled out and submitted all necessary documents to move out way ahead of time, I followed all the required procedures they told me, now it’s almost 2 months since I moved out and no one in the residence services team has any information about the documents I submitted and cannot figure out why my security deposit hasn’t been returned to me. The resident services team including the manager are so inefficient, they hardly answer the phone when you call and when they finally do, they have absolutely no information to give you, other than saying “we would get back to you”which they never do. They are very unhelpful. Mind you, the leasing department team are very responsive and obviously that’s because they want you to move in but afterwards you have to deal with the horrible resident services team and they are even worse when you’re moving out! Also before you move in, make sure to ask them if all listed amenities such as the pool is available for your use, because sometimes the leasing agents give misleading information to make things appealing and after you move in it’s a different story! **Update** It’s almost 3 months now and they’re still giving me the run-around regarding my security deposit. Now they’re lying that I left the apartment dirty and didn’t submit my notice to vacate at least 60 days ahead. This is a ploy to cheat me out of my security deposit and it is absolutely untrue because I submitted the notice to vacate twice on 05/05/2022. One via email (so I have proof) and the other, in person to the resident services manager at that time. I also spent hours having the apartment professionally cleaned, and waited over 3 hours for Humberto to perform the move-out inspection but he was no where to be found. I went to the office and informed them that I had be waiting and no one did anything to help, so I just returned the keys to the residence service team as they also couldn’t locate Humberto. It’s obvious they have a terrible system in place. This fake luxury building has the worst customer/residence services team ever. They are very rude and never helpful. It’s almost like they hate their jobs and can’t be bothered. I would 1000% NOT recommend living here and having to deal with a terrible building management.

Lived 3 years and have enjoyed it till 2020! Then came the new management and things went down the drain!! Stinky, poorly managed, no cleaning, some awful residents don't cleanup after their dogs!! Talking to management for any issue takes hours of wait!! More than a month and they have not sent the updated lease! Such a pathetic management! Stay away and you'll live with better peace of mind!

The terror that was my moving day at the beacon. The apartment is nice but lacked an appropriate and much needed cleaning, working appliances and final walk through by the leasing office. My time moving in was a complete disaster and for that I don’t recommend leasing here, if I had not put in a month of planning, paying for respective fitting furniture and moving costs, I would have not. I arrived at my unit to find shower doors not screwed in, a toilet that doesn’t flush, a refrigerator with mold (they replaced it after complaining but damaged the floors moving the new one in). A washing machine with excessive mildew, windows that don’t open (kitchen), the list goes on. (See photos) Additionally, the tenant that lived in the unit before me had a balance with PSEG (typically leasing assists with rectifying these issues) they have not (even misspelled my name and information wrong on my lease, so I can’t even submit it to PSEG). The entire process has been a major headache, avoid at all costs. My stove top, oven and ice machine also do not work!

- Management is terrible: almost never tells you the right information and wastes your time - Security: extreme disconnect with management, causing more wasted time and effort - Shuttle: usually late, filled to capacity and not as frequent as one would hope - Deli: atrocious, claims to not know how to make grilled cheese and eggs taste like plastic Amenities: insanely high fees, restricted access late night makes lounges less enjoyable and not worth the $$$ - Coffee: amazing, no complaints

Questions & Answers

I am considering moving/renting but the reviews are scary. Any tips or advise. Which building is better? Is the neighborhood safe if you walk in the evening to grove street or surrounding areas?

No issues, it's safe and secure. You can blindly ignore with reviews. Most of my friends are still staying there

Is there parking at the Beacon?

The Beacon itself has valet parking. Outside of the complex, there is street parking (some metered, but mostly free).

Yup! Management had to schedule an exterminator. Hopefully it will be properly taken care of.
