An excellent campground, well maintained, well worth the scenic drive. Many campsites have river access. Quiet area, but you might catch a show from Mountain Home; we saw and heard F-15s the entire time we were there. Off and on the locals drive through with their horse trailers. Fire pits, grills and picnic tables at many of the sites, if not all. A path leading towards the river was flooded fairly deep so there might be even more we didn't see but I imagine in summer it's dry. None of the campsites were wet despite the recent rain. Bathrooms were well stocked with toilet paper and were clean and dry. Pack out your trash and bring your own water.

A great place for solitude... brought the kiddos and they loved it, played in the Creek and even on a 95゚ day it was very nice. Do be mindful that there are rattlesnakes in the area and wildlife but they tend not to bother you if you don't bother them. 100 % worth the bumpy drive in!

Nice spot, right on the river. Quite a few sites for such a remote campground.

It doesn't get better than this if your into remote landscapes, river rafting through some of the largest chunk of land without roads and enjoy canyon lands. The area is like a grand canyon prototype. Its also a place that requires you to have your act together. Make sure you have what you need. Make sure your vehicle is in good shape. You might not see anyone for days. Help could be many miles away. Unless you take your camping very seriously, this area could be the most remote place you have ever been. Its not the place to be a lightweight in. But it'd all good if you take the time to get ready for.

Yes, it's pretty shallow and calm.

There will be plenty of dead sage bush trunks to burn ..better than fire wood except you have to add more often. Inside the canyons there should be plenty dead willows maybe cotton wood too. Juniper on the plains. Yes you can overnight an army of horses. There are bands of wild horses roaming. I would recommend that you keep some distance between you and the beasts They can be like gangsters at times. If they think your BLM they might try and drink your booze eat your oats, rape you and take your mares. Im joking of course but it wont be if you find yourself in their company. They are impressive though. i have had a few intimidating moments . Trails?, yes i believe so. Inside the canyons im sure but they could be short since the walls close in. I think there is a wilderness called Dickshooter that has horse friendly landscapes with trails but No trails should be fine. Its killer horse country. Just make sure you have more than you need. A good radio is almost a must
