It was a very pleasant, professional and efficient visa application process at the consulate. The best experience so far!

I’ve applied for Schengen visas at many different consulates in New York over the years, and the Greece Consulate really stood out. When I couldn’t find any appointment opening for 3 months out and emailed the visa department, I got immediate reply offering me a reasonable date and time that would work well for me. The staff at the consulate were friendly and helpful. The visa lady went above and beyond what was required of her job. The office is in an upper east side building with cute decorations, which is much better than those midtown east offices which guarded against people like they were criminals.

Did you ever get an answer to this? Wondering how I could do it as well.
No. Don't even try it. Trust me.
What do I need to renew my Greek passport
Hi. Did someone gave you an answer?

If you are American it is very difficult. If you live in the EU (European Union) you can live in Greece without a problem. I am American and I was married to a Greek and we moved to Crete when he retired. It was still very difficult even though he had political connections. I would be issued a Resident Visa since we were living there but it had to be renewed every three years while in Greece and it is a huge hassle. You must have a compelling reason to be granted an extension..to be with family, own property etc. They do not consider being a tourist as a compelling reason. Also..unless you are fluent in Greek it is extremely difficult to conduct legal matters with the officials as they will speak Greek to you. My husband and his brother had to conduct all official business on my behalf. Good luck to you!
Hey does it work? Because I have same situation!
You should make an appointment online to the registry department. If you go there without appointment it's not guaranteed that they will help you.
Go to their website and choose a date and time there to book an appointment.
Greece is a party to the Schengen Agreement; therefore, U.S. citizens may enter Greece without a visa for stays of up to 90 days for tourism and business.
An international license is your US American license in this Case.
You have definitely to call them, or maybe you should ask a lawyer who knows better in case you find any difficulty with the on-line information.
Yes they are but there are entry requirements. Visit the consulate website for additional requirements.
Do you have a Greek TIN? ΑΦΜ? If you have ever paid taxes in Greece, then you should have one. With this number you can register to the online services offered through ermis.gov.gr Some certificates are being offered in English as well.
Yes it is. You can present that to the Greek Authorities. Just remember to carry some form of ID with you.
Greek or American passport
Go through their website, they have an e-appointment icon on the right. Press on it and then it asks what the appointment is for, and it guides you accordingly.
I have only the best to say impeccable everyone in the service. I felt like my own people. I hope they continue to serve the citizens.
Yes. It is a pharmacy and they will take the proper pictures. We went locally and apparently they cropped off top of the hair on the picture we were to use and we couldn't use it. It was the same price 31 or $32 as I paid in my local neighborhood.
Use the Consulate's virtual assistant on the bottom right: www.mfa.gr/newyork Ask the question and a list of options in the form of a word doc will appear
It is open, you just need to make an appointment online. No walk-ins.
Only if you have a greek passport or a greek ID ( the newer version , written in Greek and English)
If you made the appointment on-line through e-servicez you can log in and change it... If not you would have to try and call first thing in the morning as they close at 230PM

If you need to renew your Greek passport, make an appointment with the Passports Department here www.mfa.gr/newyork
You can stay for more than 90 days if it is for medical reasons
Did you contact the Embassy of New York and to Athens or with the greek consulate to Thessaloniki (eventually) ?? https://www.mfa.gr/usa/en/consulate-general-in-new-york https://gr.usembassy.gov/ See to the end of their website .Also you should report it and to the Authorities /police department....I don't know guide you more ,I 'm sorry.
From that I saw, the passport is required to be changed if you need to travel outside the US. The social security card and the driving license (if you have one) should definitely changed them. https://www.google.com/amp/s/m.wikihow.com/Change-the-Name-on-a-Driver%2527s-License-Due-to-Marriage%3famp=1 https://newlynamed.com/how-to-change-your-name-after-marriage/
