All post office employees are terrible. No decent customer skills and most have no clue how the postal system works.

I went to the Pine Brook Post Office and worked with Gauri for my passport. I was very excited travel to the Middle East. Came in and got my passport application processed quickly and accurately. I come to this office all the time since I own a law firm in Parsippany. This post office always does a great job.

The women Gauri is nasty and should not be the face of any customer service establishment including the US post office. My son had an appointment for passport renewal and arrived early to fill out the application, that is when things went bad. He was given a hard time for not filling out the application prior to arrival. WHY?! He then presented his expired passport and birth certificate only to be told he needed a copy of his social security card..WHAT?! Complete lie! He explained it was not on the website and he did not have it. He was told he had to have it. UNREAL! As he had arrived very early he was able to drive home and get his SS card. When he returned a copy of the card was made. WHY? While taking his picture he was told he could have NO hair on his forehead. WHAT? In recent weeks other family members had gone to Caldwell PO with no issue. Upon learning of my sons experience, most concerning the request for SS card I called Caldwell PO to confirm no SS card was necessary, and it was confirmed, no card needed. When I tried to call Pinebrook PO no answer for 2 days and counting ..phone just rings and rings. Either PineBrook PO has no idea what they are doing, are committing identity theft, Gauri is on a power trip or all of the above. If you need a passport avoid this post office.

I arrived 4:59pm right before closing and the door was already closed. Looks like they locked the door before they should! The hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm. I need to leave work earlier to arrived way before 5:00pm. I was hoping the door will be locked around 5:05pm. Not before 5.

Questions & Answers

I was in there on Sept 24th to apply for passports for my three children. Today I received a letter from the US Dept of State saying the photo your clerk took of my son was not acceptable. How do I get a refund?

Good luck. Your Best shot is bringing the letter you received as well as your receipt and speak to the person in charge. I tend to avoid that post office like the plague... Terrible employees there who could care less about those who walk in there.

I mailed 178 invitations with calligraphied addresses on Saturday from the pine brook location. I put the same postage (what I was told) on each envelope. One came back to me today..envelope is ruined, saying it needed more postage (0.29).. why?
