How much does the medical abortion cost while being uninsured? Do I need to have a consultation beforehand and how much does that cost? Can blood tests and ultrasounds from a different clinic be used to determine how far along it is?

katt kasten | Oct 13, 2019
DeShawn Taylor | Oct 13, 2019

Medical abortion is $620. This includes the initial consultation, the abortion medications and education, and the follow up appointment. AZ state law requires that you wait a minimum of 24 hours after you have the ultrasound and consultation before you can have the abortion procedure. A small portion of the $620 fee is collected before the initial consultation and the remaining balance is collected at the time of the abortion care. No additional fees are collected at the follow up appointment to confirm that the abortion is completed. We do accept blood tests and ultrasounds from a different clinic to review during the initial consultation visit. Beware of fake clinics that provide ultrasounds and "information". They often don't provide accurate information and they don't fulfill the state requirements for the initial consultation.

I am uninsured but I want to get prescribed birth control, how much is this out of pocket?

can you be 15 and come get an abortion pill without a parent?

jacky adan | Oct 13, 2019
DeShawn Taylor | Oct 13, 2019

The state of Arizona requires you and your parent to sign a consent form in front of a notary republic to have an abortion under the age of 18. Desert Star has a notary on site. The other option is to go to court to get something called a judicial bypass. This is where a judge gives you legal authority to get the abortion without requiring parental consent. We have more information on the website www.desertstarfp.com

Hi there. I think I went to your clinic some years back but I don't recognize the inside pictures. I need an IUD but want to make sure it's the same clinic. Did you remodel? And what are your price estimates for an IUD?

Lili | Jul 14, 2022
Desert Star Family Planning | Jul 14, 2022

The clinic moved locations. Now on 19th Ave and Missouri. Uninsured people can apply to receive a donated IUD through our sister non-profit at www.desertstarfp.org. If you qualify, the Liletta IUD is donated and you pay $160 for the insertion.

It is anonymous reporting and you can decline to tell us. Please see our website for more information. https://desertstarfp.com/abortion-pill/
