I am writing this review minutes after leaving this location. The lobby and rooms were presentable. However when it came time to shower all of the soap bottles were empty. The continental breakfast this morning was a disaster. Half of the equipment was not working. Many things were empty. The food was cold, bread was hard. It was overheard by a fellow guest the breakfast attendant telling another employee that the truck hadn't come so some of the food was from yesterday. On top of all this, under the chair behind my father we spotted a cockroach on the floor laying on its back. It simply was not worth it to pay over $100/ night for the room and these amenities. Needless to say our experience was less then desirable and has left my stomach churning.

We had stayed in room 511 on June 4, 2022. While the lobby looks clean and renovated, the rooms themselves tell a different story. It was by far the most unclean hotel room my family and I have ever seen. The shower was filthy, the rugs laddened with crumbs and whole chips under the couch, dried urine under the toilet bowl sink, no soap for the bathroom, stains on the walls, and a clearly used face mask on the living room couch. When my family went to speak to the front desk to let them know we decided to leave about 10 minutes after we got to the room, we were met with a less than respectful response. When we told Candace, who was working the front desk at the time, about the state of the room, she responded with "well I didn't clean the room". Absolutely unprofessional. We've been to a ton of hotels over the years and this was by far, the absolute worst. There are two key issues here: the uncleanliness of the hotel itself and the inappropriate and disrespectful response of its staff. Beyond atrocious.

Stayed on 2nd floor. The indoor gym, pool, & jacuzzi was remarkable. The continental breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. Nice and clean hotel overall, staff was courteous and respectful. No problem with my Maltese who is a registered certified emotional support animal. Most hotels in Petersburg are not the best however this one was worth the money.

I sent this message to the general manager of this hotel and never received a reply. We stayed at this hotel the night of January 10. I have stayed in many IHG properties in the last year have been impressed with the cleanliness, attention to detail and customer service. We are in room 507. This is the worst hotel experience I have had. I'm 70 and stayed in many hotels throughout the USA and world. This hotel is out of soap. We have no soap. The ladies at the desk were not sure where we could buy soap. The ladies at the front desk last night were slumped over reading their iPhones when we arrived and later when I asked about soap and getting our shower cleaned. They didn't give a fig about customer service. The carpet in our room has not been vacuumed. The carpet is disgusting. It is heavily soiled. It needs to be replaced. The shower was not cleaned. There was an old used bar of soap in the shower. The bathroom wallpaper is peeling. There was litter on the tables and floor near the reception area when we checked in. The litter is still on the floor this morning. The stairwells are disgusting and the stairs are not vacuumed. The telephone in our room is dirty and needs a good cleaning. I tried to call the front desk and the line was constantly busy. Maybe the line to the front desk is broken. I then tried the 804 area code number listed in the room. The phone rang for 2 minutes with no answer. The place was so dirty we decided not to eat the breakfast included in the price.

We left at 5:30am and they had breakfast to go bags for us to take on the road. They offered for us to eat there but we didn't have time.
