I have to share my experience with Dr. Sodoma. I feel this is a risk because I'm afraid this could jeopardize the prescription refill I'm due for but others need to know my experience. Please please please listen to the bad reviews for this doctor. I went in to get help with what I had already assumed was a hormone issue. I've been dealing with symptoms for nearly 10 years but no one would bother checking my hormones. I saw on the website that she did HRT related services and decided to try yet again. Keep in mind I've been dismissed by many doctors for this already. I've been told "it's just stress, lose weight, workout, have glass of wine, relax etc". I have zero libido, awful mood swings, horrid periods etc. Diet and exercise did not work. No one would listen. Dr. Sodoma told me she had the answer. Hormone pellets. Would solve all my problems with NO ADVERSE EFFECTS. No insurance will cover it and it's nearly $400 every 3 months. Yea I'm poor that not an option. At the point she knew i didn't have money i could tell she couldn't me out of her office fast enough. I asked about a cheaper option. Weekly self administered intramuscular injections. Sure let's try that. She fired off a prescription THEN sent me for blood work and that was it, visit over. No instructions at all about how to do these injections myself. Wouldn't tell me what to expect from them. Claimed zero side effects. "You'll feel awesome". That was it. At this point I already knew I didn't trust her and was going to finding another doctor when i had a chance. Fast forward a couple weeks, I taught myself how to do these injections. Taught myself about the hormone i was using. Found out what to watch for and looked it her pellets more. A bit of messaging back and forth with her, questions about my case and what i was going through because it WAS NOT initially what i expected. I panicked thinking once again i failed to get this issue fixed. I was scared. She claimed injections (same T that's successfully used for gender transition mind you) are only 25% effective and I need the pellets. After looking into them, I don't want them. At that point she said I need a psych eval. No hormone will effect emotional state. That is just incorrect AND mood swings are a COMMON side effect. But no, I'm just crazy. She dropped me from her care after half a dozen messages back and forth, half of hers being copy paste replies. Despite me finally actually feeling better because the hormones are settling and I'm leveling out over time. Because that's actually how this works. My chart is also incorrect. She has symptoms listed that I have never had. She has me as married, never have been. Diagnosis that I was never told. I was scared and was given zero information about my case, my treatment, my condition nothing. Modern day hysteria doctor. Only wants your money. Not much more than a sales person for companies. If you do not have money, do not see this doctor. If you want to be treated like a patient, not a customer, du not see this doctor. If you want all the information about your treatment or condition, do not see this doctor. If you want to be able to come to your doctor with questions or concerns, do not see this doctor. If you are not the type to mindlessly accept treatment without asking why, do not see this doctor. Unprofessional. Greedy. Dismissive. Does not actually care if you feel better. Lied about side effects, everything has side effect risks, parroted company selling points as fact, they aren't. I had to teach myself how to do IM injections, what my medication was and did, what types of options I had, pros and cons of each option. She dropped me from her care because I'm not a cash cow like her other customers and I advocate for myself.

Danger!!! Beware!!!! Dr Sodoma will use unnecessarily expensive devices without explaining the financial implications to you and lie about it!!!!! I started seeing dr sodoma after getting referred by my primary care doctor. Everything was fine and I had a good experience until it was time to take out my IUD. Quick background, I have removed and inserted an IUD at a previous Dr office and didn't have to use any special devices besides an ultrasound. Fast forward 3 years later, I scheduled an appointment with sodomas office to remove my IUD. I get to my appointment and they had me disrobe and on the table. Sodoma walks in with a nurse and an instrument she briefly explains helps her take out the IUD because she doesn't like to "do it blindly". She further explains "why do it blindly and risk perforation if we have the technology" . That was it. There was no talk of how expensive this method would be! If she had informed me, I would have opted for her to remove it using an ultrasound (which they have in their office). Instead she made the sole decision to use a Hysteroscope and charged my insurance close to $3000 for a "Biopsy" of which I was responsible for paying 55% out of pocket. If she had told me the cost upfront, I would have opted for a far less expensive way to remove my IUD. She claims she had to use the device because my strings weren't visible. Understood, maybe I would have opted for her method knowing the facts but making the decision without sharing the financial implications is irresponsible and completely erodes my trust in her as a physician. Anyway I've learned my lesson and will question everything a doctor suggests whether or not I'm already in a hospital gown on the table! After I found out my bill, I called her office and spoke with the manager who tells me Dr Sodoma said she explained the financial implementation to me at the time of the procedure. THIS WAS A LIE!!!!! I will definitely not return.
