This is something I’ve always wanted to share. My experience with Dr. Amaya for my first pregnancy 2017-2018. I’ll try to keep this short. When getting blood work during my pregnancy I specifically told the MA before drawing my blood that my labs needed to be sent to Sonora quest.. she had said that they automatically send labs to in network places… well this was not the case.. I then received 2 bills from Lab Corp for about 1000$. This was the first in many events that led to me never returning to this clinic after being forced to induce very quickly and ultimately resulted in a C-section. After going thru the birth trauma from the c section I remember sitting in the hospital bed and Dr. Amaya looking me in my face and saying that I had a C-section due to my pelvis being too small and that I’d have to have smaller babies (with a smirk like smile on her face) otherwise they will all be born via C-section. After several weeks I went into the office to discuss the postpartum issues I was having. Dr Amaya diagnosed me with PCOS and really made it seem like it was no big deal. She knew I was exclusively breast feeding and prescribed me BC pills. Before she left the room I asked her if the BC was okay to take while breastfeeding my baby..to which I was met with yes of course.. as a young first time mom I didn’t realize this BC was going to completely deplete my milk supply causing my new baby to drop weight. I immediately called the office and they acted like it was no big deal. I immediately stopped the Bc and never returned to the office. Well 2 months ago I had my VBAC with a different doctor my baby came out perfectly healthy and only 1 oz difference in weight than my first baby. The VBAC helped heal some of the trauma from my first experience but there will always be the anger I have towards Dr. Amaya and her colleagues. I’ve seen in multiple VBAC az groups that mention Dr Amaya doesn’t allow her patients to TOLAC/VBAC. And all I can say to these people before or during their services here is RUN. Find a better doctor cause I promise they are out here and will help your VBAC. Join Facebook groups and many women will let you know which doctors are VBAC supportive and not just VBAC tolerant. I’ve held this pain and anger in for so long and finally just had to let it go. Edit to add: during my experience the front desk staff aways had a rude demeanor.. like their tone was annoyed.. hopefully that’s changed since 2018

This is my first pregnancy and I couldn’t be happier that I found Dr. Amaya. I was terrified when I found out I was pregnant but she reassured and supported me from the very first visit. She is absolutely wonderful, very informative and has truly taken care of me throughout my entire pregnancy. Multiple family members have met her and feel just as grateful as I am to have found a doctor who really cares about me and my baby.

Dr Amaya is pretty nice although rushes through the appointments, often not remembering our previous conversations. The ladies at the front desk are very unprofessional and mischedule appointments frequently. Multiple times they have put a specific time on my appointment card and upon my arrival told me my appointment wasn’t until later. It’s very frustrating to go through a pregnancy and feel like like the people you seek care through, don’t care. I had a different OB with my other pregnancies and had bad experiences and this is not much better. Probably won’t come back for future pregnancies.

Dr Amaya is a great doctor I give her 5 stars, the only reason I give her practice 1 star is because her front desk staff is horrible, they are always so rude and it’s hard to schedule an appointment, I am never going back.

While I went. They never did ultrasounds there, but they transferred me to another place that was a little expensive. I think she doesn't have that there in her clinic.
