My whole family has gone to Catholic school. I wanted my son to get the same privilege. I enrolled him in Kindergarten & he was expelled for playfully hitting another child...at the age of 5! Instead of simply disciplining him, they immediately & impatiently told him not to return. I was forced to put him in public school where they are patient with him, worked with him & now he's doing well both in grades & behavior. In addition, I have a friend who is unemployed & currently facing homelessness. He is currently residing in a local hotel. I contacted the church bc in the bulletin, it said they help the local homeless ppl in need of food & financial assistance. When I inquired, I was told they do not give hotel vouchers & can't help. I asked, "What CAN you help me with?" I did not receive a response. Lastly, I went to confession one day & the priest seemed rushed, annoyed & unwilling to be there. At the end, I was told I could go & he never said I was absolved. I ended up going to another church & asked them if I had been absolved of my sins. The priest said "Not if he didn't say you were." So, even though I reside in Humble, I travel downtown to Sacred Heart or Blessed Sacrament for my church-related needs.
