Our boy scout troop ended up at Big Bend on short notice due to our normal Scout ranch not being able to accommodate us and we couldn't be happier about the change of venue. Big Bend was able to give us a large group site located right on their swimming pond. The camp store had very reasonable prices (grocery store prices) which is not normally the case for campgrounds. The Ice cream was perfect and again cheaper than our local ice cream shop. The swimming pond and swimming pool were perfect and clean. Their onsite canoe trip was perfect on a gorgeous stretch of the Rifle River which we had not previously been down before. All of the staff was very helpful and friendly, Kudos to the owners for managing a wonderful place! TROOP 1627

Had a great time with a large group (around 30 adults) that included several pop-ups, a trailer, and quite a few tents. Group site 4 is beautiful, right on the river with lots of room for a huge campfire and a few yard games. It's at the back of the campground, so there's little foot or golf cart traffic. We did not have water or electric. That is a drawback for me, but we used a couple generators as needed. I arrived on a Thursday and stayed till Sunday. There were 3 port-a- potties near the site that were used by all the sites near the back. They were just cleaned and emptied when I arrived and were wiped down each day and more TP was brought in. So, they weren't horrible but they gross me out, no matter what, especially as the weekend went on and they got fuller and fuller. There was a centrally located bathhouse, also kept clean and stocked with TP. 2 of 3 soap dispensers were empty the entire time I was there. I didn't shower, but I believe there were 4 showers in total to share between male and female. They do require quarters and are cold for the most part (I heard). I chose to use the baby wipes I brought. I went there to go tubing down the Rifle River. That was a blast! I have nothing to compare it to as this was my first time ever tubing down a river. I can definitely say I will 100% do that again any time I get a chance! They have a great system in place for that activity. You could canoe or kayak as well. Rentals are available, but I would definitely bring my own tube as the rental selection was pretty slim pickins. As for the canoes and kayaks, they looked fine but I didn't use one so can't say. One does not need to stay at the campground to use the river activities. Parking is available for daily use. Owners are super friendly and helpful. Considering the massive flooding this past spring, the campground was in great shape. There is also a small lake with a cute beach and an in-ground pool. I observed a few people swimming in the lake. I didn't check out the pool. Many sites do have water and electrical hookup.

I don't think so. Pretty sure I don't remember seeing any. There's a really nice camp ground in Vassar, Krystal Lake and they have them. Just a suggestion. Happy camping!
