It was closed in 2017 due to the fact that they renovated the entire bath house area. It wasn't closed due to lake erosion. It re-opened for the summer of 2018 and is currently open in 2019.

Parks typically begin opening up various facilities after April 15... At Fort Niagara there are some additional factors... The power plant begins withdrawing less water from the upper river, allowing more water to flow over the falls and eventually to lake ontario... The other concern is the removal of the ice boom at lake Erie...
