I can tell you from my experience when I first moved in, their truck was most likely in the shop. I moved during a winter storm at the end of 2020, and the manager, I believe he was the Manager there, did in fact let me use their truck because the Uhaul, Bering one-wheeled, didn’t have the traction to move it up to the top of the hill. He helped plow the snow and used some peelers toys melt the snow all the way up to the top of the hill, where my unit is. The staff goes above and beyond, and yes I did just check prices, and they are significantly lower than what I am paying, I can bring this up to them, and they can accommodate if possible. If they can’t, I’ve been able to switch Units and drop another lease in order for them to process the discount. So, yes the repeating theme seems to be a lack of transparency, but it’s also our jobs to ask questions. Staff doesn’t have time to go over Lin-by-line an agreement. That’s your job, that’s my job, period. Having said this, I too do not put up with Bait and Switch, but from the 2 years I’ve worked with the staff at Alan Wood and their new location on Lee Drive, every staff member has been nothing short of kind, respectful and transparent. The Manager at the Alan Wood location actually told me to move my things to Lee Drive cause they had specials!! I asked why she was doing so? Her answer? “I have to do what’s best for my customers”. That’s customer-facing policies that demonstrate to me, integrity. So, while I may be able to get a better discount elsewhere, I will choose great customer care, customer-facing policies and staff, and the ability for the staff to pivot to help your own unique situation, any day over other storage units, and the biggest one out there, I’ve always stuck to where I’ve only had one manager, I became friends with, who did right by me. So, go elsewhere and if it’s better, good for you. I’m sticking with the folks here. Maybe one might want to consider their “approach”? Just sayin. Ask questions to find the Whys behind the Whys. Take a step back, Vet, then make your decision. I rush into things and agreements so quickly, since I don’t have time to read through agreements, but I’ve owned several businesses, where I can peruse through and make sure the Indemnity section protects me as a consumer; which is the whole point of Indemnity laws. Food for thought, but “ask for help” is my suggestion. The staff can’t read minds. I’m very direct in general, but I’m also very understanding. When you ask for help, you are gifting this staff the ability to feel good about themselves and help out. If you don’t, you’re taking away this gift. People like to help in general, but most people don’t ask out of pride. Frank Castle

He even found someone available to do the work for me. He went above and beyond and I am so grateful.
