I do like the Alpine stereo. First I was told by Matt to be at the store by 10am and they could get me right in and never said I needed to make an appointment. He also told me to ask for him and he wasn't even there. We spent 9 worthless hours in to Fort Worth. I asked them to fix the steering wheel controls, which still do not work. According to the online ad, there was supposed to be a free dash cam which no one mentioned and was never installed. They charged me $150 to install a backup camera on the license plate by removing two screws mounting the camera and re-installing the two screws, but used the existing wiring. I had to make an appointment for 4pm after arriving at 9:50am, and after 5pm the vehicle was still not in the shop. We were told "they stepped out to grab a bite to eat". Time is one thing you can not get back. The on duty manager did not see my time was important. After the install no one bothered to walk me through what was done. They did not even set the time on the unit. You would think after spending over $800.00 one would get better customer service but I did not. There was no clear communication from my initial phone call to when I left the store that night. I was told an appointment could not be made over the phone but the web site does ask in the pop up chat if you would like to set one. Needless to say I am very unhappy with my visit to Car Toys! If there was a O STAR, I would leave it, because they dont even deserve this 1 STAR... Ok so I come in on a Monday (because they told me they couldn't do anything over the phone), I made an appointment for Thursday, at 2pm, to get the Remote Start. I get there early, signed the paperwork and went to chick fil A to eat, went to Target. Came back over an 1 hour later at 3pm and they had NOT even started on my car. So I said how much longer before you start mine? He said there backed up, gonna be 2-3 hours. I said wait, I made an appointment with you guys and you still cant get to my car. I waited till almost 4 and went to see if my car had been moved. NOPE... I got a refund of my deposit and my keys and left. I will NEVER GO BACK TO THIS CAR TOYS...EVER...THEY LOST ME AS A CUSTOMER...Now I dont think I even want a Remote start, after this bad deal...then I read the reviews of past mistakes, yeah...steer clear of this place...Do NOT RECOMMEND...

Set up an appointment and when I showed up the sales tech had written down the wrong date. So had to return the next day. Not such a good thing as I had an hour drive in and so it cost me two extra hours and twenty dollars in gas. Then a different sales tech told me he would get me a discount based on their mistake. But after the installation the next day, I had to pay the original price that was quoted. It was not a big thing but why tell me one thing and then not follow threw with it?

I have a 2k5 Toyota 4 runner I got a GPS and had a no up cam installed. Ran me just under $1000 and about 6hrs install time. This was basic install they didn't have to widen the area of the radio etc
I've had two systems installed at CT, first time the install was free (replace factory with DVD like you mention) and the other time was expensive but it had good reasons, like connecting the volume controls on the steering wheel and running a backup camera line through a convertible top. They usually detail reasons for various install pricing. Have them explain each item and then compare.
