WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG?!?!?! Tom Cook is hands down the best C.P.A.! I have been through 2 bookeepers/tax preparation and 1 C.P.A. in the past 2 years. When my Roofing Company became Incorporated it was more then I could personally handle due to family tragedy and my inexperience. Not one business wanted to chew off the mess that I had made of my books. But Tom took us on, and I am forever grateful! He unraveled the mess (my books) and the taxes that another business prepared. Instead of me owing the IRS, they now owed me. Saving close to $20,000. He is very responsive to inquiry. No question is a dumb one to neither him or Stacey. Consider yourself lucky should he agree to take you on. Thanks Tom!!!

Tom is a wealth of Knowledge and is always extremely helpful in answering any questions I may have. He recently provided me with a spreadsheet for our daughter who recently graduated from college so that she can keep her finances in order. Thank you Tom!!!

Tom Cook has been my personal CPA for years. He is honest, professional, available to answer questions and incredibly knowledgeable. His staff is wonderful too! I've been so impressed that I refer both my personal contacts and clients to his office. Couldn't ask for a better CPA!

Absolutely. To a point. We won't be installing your servers or troubleshooting your Microsoft Office applications, but we will keep you informed of apps that can increase your productivity and/or lower your costs of doing business.
Hello Stamatis, No, sorry. That is not an area we specialize in. Thank you for reaching out and we wish you the best.
Yes. As CPAs we can represent clients before the IRS. However, we will only represent clients for the years that we prepared the returns. We no longer represent taxpayers in an audit if we did not prepare the return for the year under audit.
That depends on how you define "outsource" and "third party". We do not outsource the preparation of tax returns to a third party service provider. We do however use QBO (QuickBooks On-Line), Receipt Bank, Hubdoc, Etc. I guess you could argue that we have outsourced those cloud based services, but we don't look at it that way. We view those as Apps that we both (the client and the firm) use collaboratively to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Great question. In general, be organized and prepared for our meeting. That may mean we have a brief meeting/call to discuss how to prepare before our main meeting. Getting prepared may also involve us helping you set up systems to be more organized on an ongoing basis. In terms of tax return preparation fees, you can help by using the organizer we mail out in December/January. We put a letter in the organizer that walks you though how to complete it. We try to make that process as easy as possible for you.
Yes. We are open all year. Of course we do take weekends and holidays off.
Yes. We are huge fans of QBO. With over 100 clients currently running QBO, we are in the highest tier of the ProAdvisor program. As a Diamond level ProAdvisor, we are able to offer benefits that others can't. If you are thinking about moving your accounting to the cloud, please give us a call.
No. As a firm we have found Xero to be inferior to QuickBooks On-Line (QBO). We find the user interface and reporting to be cumbersome and counter-intuitive. We can however help clients convert from Xero to QBO.
Yes. And the important words in that question are "planning for". If brought into a potential transaction early, we are able to advise clients as to their options (including using a 1031 exchange) and the tax consequences to those options.
Yes. This is actually one of our favorite things to do for a client. It is truly rewarding to be a key player in helping a client start and/or expand their business. We work closely with local attorneys and insurance agents to help clients get started on the right foot. We especially enjoy helping clients setup their accounting systems correctly from day one. With that solid foundation we are able to better advise them as they grow or face challenges.
Our minimum fee for preparing an individual income tax return is $450 and goes up from there based on complexity.
Yes. Absolutely!
