We went hiking on the trails. It was beautiful, trails are dirt. Crosses a few wet areas, but easy to pass now. Ups and downs, so good hiking footwear is very helpful. Goes along a creek. At a few spots you can get to the creek. Otherwise there is nature or height between you. Mostly tree covered, so didn't need my hat. We ate at a picnic table after and used the nicely housed outhouse. There is a camp host as well. He uses a bike to get around! Really enjoyed it all! Can walk for many miles. We walked out just under 4 miles and then came back.

Stayed here for one night this last weekend and enjoyed a well maintained campground. From the campsite, to the one path my children and I explored, to the river it's beautiful, peaceful, and very well kept. Site was wonderfully shaded & had plenty of space for our mini vacation stay. Camp host's were awesome!

We drove here to check it out for the summer. No hook ups, but big spacious sites. Great hiking opportunities.

Hikes with friend and hound. Moderate trail- hiked in 3.5miles of the 11mile trail. Point to point trail with a 2,000ft elevation gain. Beautiful trail along side Gales Creek.

I recommend getting there early, but campers have until 1 to leave. So there's always a chance even if you can't get out super early
Open?
There is a bulletin board at the fornt of camp with little yellow envolopes you mark your site and out miney i side and put it in the payment box
As of a week ago day use was open. Camping was not. The gate was still closed on top so had to walk down to sites.
You can hike the hiking trails, walk through the campground, and use the day use area year round. But you can't actually camp there until it's open, which I believe is fairly soon. The sign I saw I think said open March 19th or 20th for camping
The camp ground is closed when I visited it but the day use area is open for people to use
You can have leashed dogs at the campsite, so I don't see why you can't have a cat there. It just has to be on a leash either held by someone or something.
They closed at the end of September but there are several other campgrounds that are still open along highway 6.
