Why is there such a small selection of cards, esp pokemon cards?

Asked about selling a specific set of 15 singles, to which they replied they would look at buying some, but not all, of. Drove 15 minutes to the store just for the guy to look at the cards for 3 seconds and say he didn't need any of them. Really don't understand why he couldn't have just googled the set to see if he needed any of those cards, rather than me driving up to the store to show them to him directly.
