Do not go to the Garland shelter and I mean it! Please! They kicked myself and my 5 year old daughter out after almost getting my housing... They kicked us out because my grandmother's friend is an Uber. I gave the address to a church nearby for us to walk to and get picked up by our Uber. My Uber went to that address and the church next door asked why she was parked there. After they asked she explained she was there to pick me up and the church office asked my Uber "is she in a shelter?" And disclosed the location of the shelter.. they hassled me about "Why did I give the address out?" I swore on my grandfather's grave that I didn't give the address... They called the police on me after telling me they were kicking myself and my 5 year old daughter out and I got really upset (rightfully so because I did nothing wrong) they should have been upset with the church who disclosed the location. The cops were very understanding and told me they have heard ALOT about this place. Other then that , the only good people working at this location is Mrs. Nikki, Mrs. Lindsey and Maribelle. The manager Monica is completely unprofessional and disrespectful. I have watched them KICK people out before they get their housing so they can make more money bringing more people in. I am actually sad about them exiting me as myself and my daughter loved the residents and some of the workers. They don't follow the own rules in their book.. there is a man there in woman's clothes (which is not allowed) . I am broken and hurt. Please don't waste your time here.
